X-Men Origins: Wolverine Official Thread

I thought it was alright, but I didn’t expect much. The guy playing Sabertooth was great, some of the fights were good. The ending was odd.

What the fuck was up with the CG Professor X at the Helicopter? Did Jean Luc Picard refuse to have anything else to do with the frachise so they had to CG him in?[/quote]

That’s was one of my gripes with the effects. Not only did it look like they CG-aged him to look younger, he didn’t even look like he was actually standing there. That whole scene just looked terrible.

One thing I wanted in the first three was less drama and more violence. This one delivered. Awesome fight scenes and action. North and Dukes were really cool, as well as Wade. Schrieber and Jackman had good scenes together and Silver Fox was hot.

I think the fanboys and those that are used to the comics and cartoon shows need to settle the down. Man, I think a lot of dudes went into this movie arms crossed frothing at the mouth to point out discrepancies than sit back and enjoy the thing.

For those calling “fake!” on W’s claws… what the fuck. What the fuck. THEY’RE FAKE! And you’re sweating how non real they looked in some scenes? Yet it’s completely reasonable that ANY of the other shit is anywhere near plausible? Whatever dude. He cuts a Hummer down the side and launches himself onto a helicopter which in turn loses its’ rotors, crashes, yet North is still in tact as well as the radio and NOBODY is bent out of shape about that, yeah that kind of thing gets a free pass.

But whoooooah, there wasn’t any glimmer in the bathroom on his claws? Firebomb Fox and Marvel!!! You guys kill me. If it weren’t for these studios clunking together to get the thing made you’d still be thumbing through old issues full of cum-stains on all the Mystique and Rogue panels…

As far as the storyline goes, it is what it is. I would like to seen more of Wraith and North and Wade and Dukes, but I’ve always wanted to see storylines like that ultra developed. Like all the different guys in Predator, always wondered how they all got on the team to begin with, etc.

It’s a 8.5/10 for me and an awesome start to the summer blockbusters.

Brad, you’re a failure. No one’s telling you not to like the movie. Well, we are, because obviously other’s opinions matter to you enough to you to incite anger, and the comic fan opinion has been less than kind.

The actors did a great job. Everyone around them who has a job to make their acting part of a cohesive and entertaining project failed them, and the audience.

The movie was sub-par, especially by modern effects standards. The glaring errors should have been sorted out well before release.

WHAT? Those claws were fake? Come on,dude…don’t patronize. Especially considering that the helicopter scene stood out to you more than more apparent flaws…don’t make a fool of yourself.

Look I understand that a movie is an adaptation of its source material. BUT it doesn’t take a “fanboy” to see bad CGI,plot holes, and worn out Hollywood cliche. Especially when its to a greater degree than the previous X-Men movies. You might want to clean FOX’s cum stains off your glasses so you can see.

This movie was a let down to those who have never read the comics and to those who have. If FOX can’t do better than this…they shouldn’t even bother with Magneto origins movie. Especially if they are using CGI on Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart to make them look young…as rumored.

The way I see it, I was entertained. Yes the effects looked bad in some scenes. I was hoping that the story of Wolverine would have gone deeper, but I guess not. The fight scenes were good, thats about it.

they cgi’d super air brushed him, he was actually on set and did that part. but yea the attempt to make him look younger was terrible

perhaps its because you have nothing of interest in your life or anything you really like.

but by chance there is something you hobby, sport, w.e. that was a big part part of your life growing up, that you can really call yourself a “fan” of, just wait until someone takes it and craps all over it just to make a buck. then you MIGHT get it.

Even Wolverine was let down:

We’ll see. GI Joe comes out in August. I doubt it though.

I see movies to be entertained, not to pick them apart. Many of the comments on this thread seemed like folks were waiting on this one to come out so they could destroy it. But I really dug this one a lot. If that deems me unworthy then so be it, but I’ll be snatching this one up when it gets to Blue Ray just to see North change his magazines over and over and over.

x2

This movie sucked ass.

My biggest thing was the pacing. Why cram all that shit into one movie when you want to make a franchise out of this? And I know they do movie studios want to turn everything into franchises, and Wolverine is a franchise character.

The Weapon X scene in the actual facility was lame. That was one of the most emotional and visceral event in the comics, and all Wolverine does in the movie is claw two guys and then fall into a river.

I’ll save some of my other gripes because they’ve already been stated by others, but all I can say is I hope Terminator: Salvation and Transformers 2 don’t suck as bad as this.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the movie: Wolverine Is An X-Men Ordeal

But… Did anybody else see the movie and think, “Man, I thought they’d beef up more. They look pretty small”?

I thought Creed should have been bigger and more muscular. As far as acting, Liev Schreiber did well, but his physique didn’t inspire fear at all.

Absolutely.

Now, on this note, is there an actor out there who you think has the physique to do justice for the role?

I actually think they should have had Megaman (dude from Troy, a former WSM competitor). That guy is so huge it’s unreal.

Ya just gotta give in a bit on these things, if they start casting IFBB pros in movies, then these movies would start blowing extra hard.

Imagine 2 hours of of those behind the scenes videos on MD, anybody think they could sit through that ?

I cant give a fair review to the movie, Im such a Wolverine/Hugh Jackman fanboy that I even liked the screener that was floating around the web with unfinished special effects. Im usually a tough critic, but I was going to like this one no matter what was done with it.

Sorry.

You know its bad when the licensed video game is better than the actual movie.

Side note: The video game is violent as fuck, and has the bloodlust that should have been shown in the movie.

I’m sure if Schreiber had 3 years to prepare for the role, he would have bulked up more, but he’s a working actor and getting huge would have limited his casting options for other roles.

Liev was actually in better shape for this then i expected, when i saw the first stills of him I was a little concerned.

Dammit this makes me want a Ryan Reynolds Deadpool movie.

Looks like Wolverine 2 was already greenlit.

From the article:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s success means the sequel has already been greenlit, and it’s looking like the story we’ve been waiting for all along: the one with the ninjas. But that’s not the only Wolverine sequel.

Variety reports that work has already started on a sequel (Will it be called X-Men Not-So-Origins: Wolverine, I wonder?), and that it will focus on Logan’s stay in Japan, where he tries to calm his savage side and learn the way of the samurai despite being surrounded by ninjas and organized crime. No writer has been hired to script yet, but I’m sure that discussions are already taking place on how many X-Men B-list characters can be awkwardly shoehorned into the movie.

Meanwhile, Variety is also reporting that Fox has already given a greenlight to a spin-off movie starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, the “merc with a mouth,” in the wake of his decapitation at the end of Wolverine. Will he still have the eye-blasts and teleportation?

So we’re getting a Ryan Reynolds Deadpool spin-off, eh?
