X-Men Origins: Wolverine Official Thread

Hmm…just realized that the Weapon XI stunt double was the guy from Undisputed 2.

Amazing that they wasted his talents just for that bit.

From the article:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s success means the sequel has already been greenlit, and it’s looking like the story we’ve been waiting for all along: the one with the ninjas. But that’s not the only Wolverine sequel.

Variety reports that work has already started on a sequel (Will it be called X-Men Not-So-Origins: Wolverine, I wonder?), and that it will focus on Logan’s stay in Japan, where he tries to calm his savage side and learn the way of the samurai despite being surrounded by ninjas and organized crime. No writer has been hired to script yet, but I’m sure that discussions are already taking place on how many X-Men B-list characters can be awkwardly shoehorned into the movie.

Meanwhile, Variety is also reporting that Fox has already given a greenlight to a spin-off movie starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, the “merc with a mouth,” in the wake of his decapitation at the end of Wolverine. Will he still have the eye-blasts and teleportation?

So we’re getting a Ryan Reynolds Deadpool spin-off, eh?[/quote]

Correction: How may A-List characters can be awkwardly shoehorned into the movie?? Also…“calm his savage side”…?? Maybe its just me,but I never saw a savage Wolverine in that movie. I hope they hire better writers than David Benioff(Troy) and Skip Woods(Hitman,Swordfish,G.I. Joe).

I’m not really sold on Gavin Hood…but since he has established himself with Jackman,he most likely will direct sequel. He just needs to keep Tom Rothman(aka Jerry Jones) out of his way…something no one has been able to do. Wouldn’t hurt to pick up a comic book either.

Maybe they can get Zach Snyder to direct…they originally wanted him to direct Origins. He turned it down for Watchmen. I can only imagine the results if that had gone through. I do know that Snyder and Jackman are working together in Guardians of Ga’Hoole movie. I pray this can spark something for him directing the Wolverine sequel.

But I really don’t see him striving to work with Fox and deal with Rothman. Fox will have him sitting on his hands from the directors chair. He might even have a little animosity for the whole Watchmen lawsuit. We shall see.

Spoiler…

You guys think that was Reynolds as Weapon XI at all during the final fight scene ? Or all Adkins ?

I really wish Ridley Scott would work on this movie, I love his the dark side to his movies.

Deadpool movie is official:

I just can’t take Ryan Reynolds seriously as Deadpool. His face is way too pretty and I keep thinking of Van Wilder when I hear his name.

Doesn’t work for me.

This is why I generally prefer less-known actors as lead roles.

and this:

" X-Men: First Class, which is being written by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz."

As in that stupid MTV show, The OC? Why?

The OC was on fox, you might be confusing it with its reality show version, Laguna Beach, which aired on MTV.

And Josh Schwartz created Chuck, so nothing but respect from me.

I think we can pretty much assume what parts were Reynolds…although Adkins and Reynolds have such a similar build. But all the fancy kicks…umm, yeah…that had to be Adkins…he should be cast as an character in something X-Men/Marvel related.

also, I would be interested to know which parts of the Deadpool/Wade scenes were the added reshoots because they wanted to him to the story because they suddenly realized how popular he would be.

Also, Will.I.Am impressed me.

Gambit, hit and miss for me.

I am more disturbed that you know the difference

I like Chuck, but can you really trust a person to write material that is a different genre than what they’re well known for writing?

My point is that a badass fantasy writer, for instance, won’t necessarily be the best person to write a reality show.

Do you disagree?

Ponce, i see where you are coming from, and definitely agree with you that he isn’t the ideal person to write First Class, but if we like it or not, it is who we are going to get. So I am just gonna look at the silver lining here and take the best of what he has done (Chuck) and hope I get something built upon his progress with that.

I saw this a couple of days ago and thought it was great. The action was cool (although I would’ve liked to see more savagery from Wolvie and Sabretooth), the special effects were excellent and the plot moved along at an even and decent pace the whole way through… there was never a point where I felt like it was treading water and I was waiting for something to happen.

It gets my thumbs up at any rate.

Ponce, ya know that Deadpool actually made a Ryan Reynolds reference in a comic book a few years ago ?

Somebody asks him what he looks like under the mask and he responds with " A mix of a sher pei and Ryan Reynolds"

I used to love several comic books when I was a kid: The Ghost Rider, The Avengers and the X men were my favorites. I also collected Iron Man. So far I have been disappointed in everyone that I have seen.

This one, which I saw last night was no exception.

They didn’t explain shit, the storyline sucked and the “supermutant” that supposedly had all of the mutants strengths and none of their weaknesses got killed way too easily. And the ending… total shit. Luckily I saw it for free and didn’t waste too much money on it. The theater was almost empty too.

I know it’s only a small thing really but why the hell is Sabertooth so small? For the sake of the true-blue comic fans, why the hell couldn’t Sabertooth tower over Logan? Sabertooth needs to call him “runt” for god’s sake. Like I said it’s a small thing, but Sabertooth should make Logan look small and dwarfed, it was always a part of the comics that Wolvie had to overcome being outmatched in size and strength by sheer ferocity and skill!

Besides, I just want to hear Sabertooth calling him runt…

I don’t care what people say this movie was bad ass. Wolverine is just the man
