Rocked ass, hard. Went to the midnight showing and can honestly say I got my money’s worth. Great flick.
Don’t know who they got to play juggernaught, but the dude was pretty huge (possibly a suit??) Everyone who likes these type of movies should definitely check it out…
Just saw it. Great movie. Fuck the reveiws - if you liked X2 you’ll love this. Kelsey Grammer does a great job as Beast. Great lines, - and they even included one of my favorite internet memes:
“Don’t you know who I am? I’m the juggernaut, bitch!”
Too fucking funny. Every guy under 30 in the theater cracked up.

i still wish they brought gambit into the picture. any chance of a X4 or is last stand really just that?
My son always gets mad when we stay and watch the credits role and don’t leave until the lights come on…After X3 he said, “now I know why you stay…”

Yeah, my friend told me he stayed after cause someone told me.
And by the way, I saw it at 9 30 thursday night. Kristen’s family is a family friend of an owner of a movie theatre.
The scene at the end where Jean is flipping out and wolverine was walking up to him as his skin is deteriorating then growing back was one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen.

They definately left the movie so they would have the option to make another if they chose. I’m sure it will depend on how well this one goes over.
As a movie, I definately liked it, but didn’t really care for how much they drifted from the original plot line of the X-Men comics. [/quote]
I liked how it drifted from the comics. You didn’t know what was coming and I really don’t know how it will end up. Do you really think this will be the last of the series though? I hope not, too many loose ends for me. I think this particular X-men drew me in more than all the other ones. It was fantastic
*Spoiler Alert!! Read no further if you dont want to ruin the movie for yourself!!
Do you really think all the characters that died in the movie, really died? I mean, doesnt the Phoenix resurrect itself in the comics? I really cant see Prof X (wheel chair kind) being out of the whole series. Also, with the mutant cure, that sort of worked, wouldnt that mean that all of the previous mutants including Magneto would gain their powers back too? Mystic too? Do you think Rogue really gave herself to the cure, and even if she did, would it be permenant?
I have to say, I missed seeing Night Crawler in this one too.
I’d love to see those future government control robots in future movies.

I didn’t really care for some of the changes either, but you can’t compress 40+ years of comic-book story into three movies. Some of the elements would have taken waay too long to explain, like how wolverine REALLY got his skeleton, who and what Lady Deathstrike really was, what the Phoenix really was(or Juggernaut for that matter)–you get the idea. Overall I liked the execution. I may go see it again, especially to see after the credits. I was going to stay as well, but my group left too.

I think so. Although their death was kind off odd at first, and being that the Phoenix can in fact, do anything she wants in the movie(we’re not including the comic), she might have been able to bring people back to life after she “disintegrated” them.
However, this wouldn’t be very conductive to the story, since those deaths were actually the high-points of the movie. If Phoenix would to be reborn again, the series would probably take a great fall down.
Personally I think it was a good choice to make Cyclops and Phoenix die.
Not because I don’t like those characters, because I do, but because that would be the best choice and would continue to differentiate the X-Men movies as something more mature, like they continued with X2, rather than a mellow comic-book movie.
Besides, Brett Ratner and Bryan Singer said that this would be the last movie in the series.
Not counting Wolverine and other possible spin-offs.

I think it’s specifically left open for speculation, after seeing Magneto move that chess piece at the end.
Who knows.
Rogue did gave herself to the cure though, she grabbed Bobby’s hand at the end and if I’m not mistaken they also kissed, which wasn’t possible before without her taking Bobby’s powers and life force.

This is I could definately see in a Wolverine movie, but not in the first.
why was there a sent at the beginning? they werent even around yet.
why was the phoenix an alter ego of jean?
why didnt colossus have a russian accent?
why did juggs fall when he went near the kid that zapped mutant powers,… juggs isnt a mutant.
why didnt juggs recognize his half brother?
besides these and MANY more it was a ok movie, nothing worth 10 bucks.

This all falls under my “Can’t Cram 40 years into 3 Movies” theory. The Colossus without an accent thing kind of irked me, though. That’s like Wolverine NOT smoking cigars. Another reason I think they water it down is because it has to be profitable. As much as all of us comic-geeks would like to see a direct translation, we would not make the studios enough money.
It was a good flick, Ratner did a good job filling singers shoes but it was so fucking pg 13 it hurt. I saw Wlovie slash(and kill) at least 30 guys with not one spray or splatter of blood. But personally it seems like a mix of the old stuff(70’s -80’s storyline) and the new ultimate x-men. I hope the do follow this line of thought and make a 4th movie witch could follow the sentinel storyline where prof x is dead and magneto rallies the remaining mutants againts the sentinel threat.
just my 2 cents though.
