One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is that they show about as much man-ass/dude-ity in this movie as was in 300.
I find it reflects on the maturity of the posters here that this hasn’t been mentioned yet.

I think recognizing context is what maturity is about, Otep.
Same as being able to differentiate between smut and art.
I’m going to see it in about two hours.
Here’s the latest “Hi, I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC” featuring Deadpool and Watchmen.
I really did not like it at all.
The only positive points were some of the acting. Hugh Jackman, and Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth were both good. That’s about it.
The plotline was lots of boring moments, an exciting moment, then more boring. Nothing was even strung together well, probably because they ignored the comics and made it all up themselves, and didn’t have time to make it make sense.
Everything sucked. Sabretooth’s makeup sucked. Striker was not as obsessesed as he should be. Wolverine’s origin story? WTF? I don’t know who’s origin it was but it wasn’t Wolvie’s.
And please with the people raising their face into the air and screaming over the bodies of their dead loved ones worked only once in the first movie it was done in, now it’s just hamming it up.
…So… seeing this stoned: good idea or great idea?

awesome idea.
Well, now I know what I’m doing Thursday night in NYC!
Possible SPOILER,
I saw it, and I found it entertaining. I was lost a bit with the story, in that before the opening credits were even done, they briefly showed Logan in numerous wars with Creed. I thought Liev did a fairly good job playing Creed, certainly dark and sinister. But I remember Creed being HUGE. I mean gargantuan. FAIL.
I have boiled it down to the action scenes being good, but the storyline was lame. They really could have dove into Wolverine and I don’t think they did a good job with it. If he had such incredible healing powers, why was he sick as a boy at the beginning?
So i just read Roger Ebert’s review and it was hilarious. Here are a few excerpts…
“Their story starts in “1840 – the Northwest Territories of Canada,” a neat trick, since Canada was formed in 1867, and its Northwest Territories in 1870. But you didn’t come here for a history lesson. Or maybe you did, if you need to know that Logan and Victor became Americans (still before they could be Canadians) and fought side by side in the Civil War, World War I, World War II and Vietnam. Why they did this, I have no idea. Maybe they just enjoyed themselves.”
“But wait! – you say. Doesn’t “X-Men Origins” at least provide a learning experience for Logan about the origins of Wolverine? Hollow laugh. Because we know that the modern Wolverine has a form of amnesia, it cannot be a spoiler for me to reveal that at the end of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” he forgets everything that has happened in the film. Lucky man”

Strkyer: “Your country needs you.”
Logan: “I’m Canadian.”
Me: I guess he just found out yesterday.
I did like reynolds as deadpool.
I laughed at the part when they were in the elevator
A bunch of guys trapped in an elevator all on high protein diets not good lol
I just read this little tidbit
In some copies of the theatrical release, there is a post-credits scene in which Deadpool’s hand is seen reaching for his severed head, at which point, he opens his eyes and breaks the fourth wall as he whispers to the audience, "Shhh…
this is on wiki I am on a mission to find out what he told the audiance

Mutant powers don’t always surface at birth is a possible explanation.
or else it would have SERIOUSLY sucked to have been Mrs. Summers.
What is up with stating the obvious?
(fight scene with Deadpool)
Wolverine to Sabretooth: “Back to back?”
Sabretooth: “Yep.” (?)
Then they fight Deadpool. Come on.
I went out and bought a Cable & Deadpool graphic novel today to make up for the garbage of a character that the movie tried to pawn off as Deadpool.
Great news! Possible Deadpool GAME by Raven Software.
Supposedly, there are THREE post-credit endings. I saw the really lame one with Stryker walking and the MP catching up to him and arresting him.

I saw this movie. I call it a tragedy.
I enjoyed it, but it was a shadow of what it could have been.
I was really put-off by the CGI effects. The scene where Wolverine is navel-gazing in the farmer’s bathroom? No depth or shadow on the blades, no insertion points in the skin. It looked like they photoshopped it in there. Amateurish. I realize I probably couldn’t do better, but I’m not a highly-paid CGI artist. I’ve seen better.
Honestly, I’d kind of hoped that X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE would be everything that’s hopped through in the opening 90 second montage. THAT was a bummer.
I’m a sucker for plot twists. I liked what they did with Starfox, or 20thCenturyFox, or SilverFox, or whatever her name was. The way they brought her back. I liked the way they brought Creed back in towards the end.
The last, major thing that I found notable in the movie is the film-convention that ‘not killing people’ makes you a hero. Twice in the story, main characters are given a shot to kill the bad guy, and they refuse to, believing that letting bad guys live is the higher moral path.
This struck me as hollywood bullshit, and is retarded on a level I haven’t seen since I fast-forwarded through ‘I AM SAM’.[/quote]
SPOILER ALERT!!!*********
Pretty much spot on review, Otep!
Some of the CG was really awful! Like you said, the scene where he’s looking at his claws in the bathroom was just weird looking. The ending where they were approaching the helicopter looked bizarre as well. I expected a lot better considering where we are at currently with CG effects and the money put into this film.
I thought one of the appeals of Wolverine was that he was an ‘anti-hero’. Meaning, he can kill someone when it’s necessary. Oh well…
Individual gripes:
Gambit? Doesn’t he have an accent? Why was he even in this movie?
What the fuck was Scott Summers doing in this movie and why did he already have his ruby quartz glasses before meeting Xavier?
Emma Frost? What the fuck was she even doing in the movie either? They fucked up with her character and powers and then they add that she’s Silver Fox’s sister on top of that? She’s too good and important of a character to mess with and marginalize like that. Huh?
Speaking of Silver Fox, since when has her power been ‘tactile suggestion’?
It’s been said before (I think Vash said it first), but FOX apparently not only hates the X-Men, but they don’t know how to read either. Why not just use the existing stories already available to you? Why make up shit and change shit just for the sake of doing so? I’m very angry about this at the moment.
Fuck FOX!
Likes:
There is good action in the movie. For all my complaints, I still thought it was entertaining. I thought the dialog was good for the most part.
I thought Hugh Jackman did a good job. I actually thought Liev Schreiber did a good job. Ryan Reynolds did a good job in his limited time and I’ve said it before, why cast a comedic actor to play a comedic character if that’s what you’re doing to do with the character? Even Will.i.am wasn’t bad.
IN SUMMARY:
If you are a fan of the X-Men universe and are familiar with the details of the characters, you will HATE this movie.
If you are not, then you will probably like the movie as a straight-up action flick.
Yeah, I’m kind of drunk right now and ranting. I’m trying to cope with what I just saw.
Vader:
What did you think of Deadpool?
SPOILER
In the Origins comic, Wolverine [fuck me if I can remember his birth name right now] is a sickly, often bed-ridden child. 'Til he goes apeshit, pops bone claws, and kills a Creed.
This movie . . . damn. I felt all the actors did a great job. The Deadpool “where’s my head” action was superb.
The writers, director, producer, and the motherfucking boom handler decided to piss all over the X-Men. I still believe, quite literally, Fox is destroying this mMarvel property to lower the ticket sales of the other Marvel films.
