Hey T-people, Help me figure this out: I’ve done the low carb diets and after several days wanted to rip someone’s head off. I’ve done the low cal diet, and became too weak to rip someone’s head off. So, I went back to my old ripping diet from back in the days as a bodybuilder, and according to modern science, it shouldn’t work. But, lo and behold, I drop the fat in my diet to about 25-35 grams a day and stay away from sugar: fat loss!!!
Can someone explain to me why the hell I’m losing my fat if I’m on a diet that isn’t supposed to get me ripped?
I’m pretty sure that the poster was speaking sarcastically to everyone that is touting low carb diets as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I agree with him too. Low carb diets make me feel like hell. Low fat is the way to go in my case as well. Works just fine.
Oh, I see. Well, low to zero carb diets are hell on me, too. And hell to others around me when I useto diet that way.
And according to "science" a woman at my age (36) shouldn't be capable of losing fat as fast and "efficient" as someone much younger. But it is the case with me: I up my activities, cut out sugars, fats - and boom: I drop fat. To each their own.
No Aaron is right. It’s probably not that he’s consuming much less calories than he was on a low carb diet or whatever. I think it’s just that some peoples body’s really get a strong thermogenic response from higher carb/lower glycemic type diets. Either that or some people just don’t break down protein very well and for these people large amounts of protein might very well slow the metabolism down. I’ve seen the same thing happen myself after being on a mod carb diet and then drastically increasing carbs and lowering fat and meat protein. I lose fat weight nearly immediately. I believe John Berardi once said his brother was the same way and actually lost fat faster with more carbs in his diet and not less.
