I wanna buy some wrist wraps to wear during Squats and Presses.
I don’t think I need anything crazy stiff. I just want something for training. Something to take the pressure off my wrists during push-press and will keep my wrists locked when I bring the bar out of the hooks for benching.
I’m thinking either APT Blue Power Wrist Wraps, Metal Triple Line wrist wraps, or whatever the basic Inzer Wrist Wraps are. But I’m open to different brands and models if there’s something better out there. I’d like something that looks cool. Flames aren’t cool.
I have the Metal All Blacks and I really like them a lot. They are stiff, but not crazy stiff and the velcro seems to be holding up great.
I use them for the same reason as you, heavy pressing and squats.
I haven’t used the other’s that you suggested, but I would defintely recommend the All Blacks. I hear the APT’s aren’t as good, but like I said, I don’t have any direct experience with them.
I have the Metal triple lines in 80cm. They are pretty great for all around training; not too stiff that wearing them for a bit becomes a pain, but solid enough to give you plenty of support. I’ve tried a pair of APT’s Strangulators and they are absolutely awesome, my next pair will probably be some of them.
I have a few pairs of APT straps and I love them. If you don’t want anything too stiff, then you’ll likely want to go with the smaller 12" sizes. The 20" and larger straps might be a little too much and usually reserved for heavy and superheavy training.
I have a pair or 12" Blue Power straps and I use them for most of my ‘regular’ lifting when I need some wrist support. I really like them.
I have a pair of 20" Black Reaper straps that I use when I need a little more support for heavier pressing.
I also have a pair of 12" ZRV Pro that I only use when I’m doing really heavy DB pressing as those straps are super tight.
I got the Blue Power and Black Reaper from elitefts.com and the ZRVs from APT directly.
I’ve been using the standard Inzer for a few months now and they’re comfortable and supportive. I tried a pair of Convict APT today and they were a little too stiff and uncomfortable. Maybe they just need to be broken in.

The APTs do need to be broken in a little. Usually the first few times I use them, they can be a little uncomfortable, but they get better after a while. Washing them helps a bit as well.
There was an aboslutely hyyyyyyoge thread on this a while back. Might be worth searching for.
FWIW, I don’t think it actually matters what wraps you get. They’re all gonna be pretty much the same to you at our level now. I have he metal all blacks and they do a great job, but theyre a bit expensive for what they are imo. The inzer z-wraps are quality, and everyone’s loving the APT gear at the mo too.
I go inzer all the way, they make some of the best products for everything whether its wraps or gear. I have them there cheap, have lasted for a while and still feel brand new and work amazing. Plus I like the look of them a lot, red and black is sweet.
Just realized how expensive the All blacks are in comparison to my other options. My gym sells Titan Wrist Wraps. But I’m gonna be getting an order from EliteFTS pretty soon anyway.
Which ATP wraps would be the most reasonable purchase for me? They’ve all got crazy names so I can’t really tell which one is the flagship model and which one is just the intro level training model.

I got both my Blue Power and Black Reaper from EliteFTS. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I think the Blue Power are a slightly stronger grade than the Black Reapers though.
I like Inzer Zs for heavy benching, and use my older Metal triple lines for other pressing. The metals wore out pretty quickly and they didn’t have as much support to begin with. I think they were a good first set, but I love the Inzers are a lot stronger and cheaper to boot.

would any of your recommendations be changed for a first pair of wraps ever?
and how much will they help?[/quote]
They help tremendously with over head pressing for me, as well as benching. I would just go with one that looks cool to you, they all work the same pretty much you don’t need super long ones unless your benching like 700+lbs or something.
I personally have heard a lot of bad things about wrist straps…you’ll never be able to work on proper grip strength. If your wrists are weak then you should not be wearing them.

yeh plus im jack diseal grip and train it later anyways, farmer holds, static holds, wrist curls, rack pulls, plenty of things that dont need straps or wraps! i dont use straps either its like a gear preference to me
