Wrist Injury Rehab

I tore or sprained something in my right wrist over a month ago but the usual rest and ice didn’t seem to heal it up. It doesn’t bother me when I’m not lifting unless I stretch it into a specific position but any exercise involving holding weight in that hand causes some pain, which eliminates almost every upper body and even most of the good lower body exercises such as squats.

I think I’ve done a pretty good job avoiding use of the wrist but it doesn’t seem to be progressing. If any of you have had an injury like this, how long does this sort of thing take to heal? Is there any sort of stretching/rehab exercise that can improve healing or does any wrist activity make it worse?

With this injury my plan is to do lots of running and sprinting and just try to lose some fat (although obviously if I could lift simultaneously that would prevent muscle loss) but I’m wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and whether is just healed on its own eventually? Thanks.

Well there are a lot of little ligaments and bones in the wrist/hand. Mine is finally getting better after a few weeks. Just keep icing and don’t do any ex’s in the weightroom that hurt.
