And I thought I was the only clown that sets up deep! Nice! Koklyaev is an animal. Isn’t he competing in the olympics this summer? I wonder how this meet impacted his training for the olympics. Maybe he did it for shits and giggles?
I dont think he is competing at the olympics…
Looks like his squat is still suffering from his quad tear (IIRC) - he has tripled that weight before! Beast! And always looks like he’s having a great time killin it.
That’s a big guy…He sure as hell ain’t built for powerlifting, but he still made some heavy weights look like nothing.
why is he not built for powerlifting ? the dude weighs 350 lbs has great leverages for deadlifts, decent for squat, long arms for the bench but has a decent bench anyway taking into account he has spent most of his time overheadpressing.
Such an awesome lifter, love his squat technique/depth.
Dalle, at 350 lbs, a ~750 lbs squat isn’t very impressive by powerlifting standards. Obviously the bench isn’t, as you mentioned partially due to mostly sticking with OH pressing through his career. The only thing that’s impressive at all by powerlifting standards is the deadlift.
Those spotters look like they had no business being there. Hell, at most meets, when the lifts get that heavy, they’ll have four or five spotters for the squat. I had four spotters for my 474 squat Saturday, and I wasn’t even close to the best squatters there. Granted, it wasn’t a monolift, but a spotter shouldn’t have to run up from off the platform to help out.

lol what??
It is Top 8 currently on PL Watch, worldwide, and at least 4 of the ones higher were performed in feds that have a reputation for passing questionable squats…I don’t know what meets you’ve been going to that a 750 squat isnt impressive!

Plus, as mentioned, that is a crappy squat for him personally.
2100+ total raw, no wraps or anything, and its not impressive. lol…
lulz at that head judge.

You are crazy man. Misha is the best all around strength athlete on the planet. He has squatted over 8, benched over 5 and deadlifted over 9. Not to mention his awesome performances in Weightlifting, highland, strongman. He is incredible. All raw, never a question on depth, usually double overhand on deads, long pause on bench. No one comes close to his domination in all arenas of strength.
If you are trying to compare his squat to triple ply SPF depth (or lack there of) squats then of course his numbers will be lower.

agree 100% mcfat:)
x2
i dont think it was made 100% clear that it was a completely raw squat
why no olympics? injury? what does this guy do for a day job?
