Worst Part About Being Strong & Big

It would be nice if more people, especially women, found it attractive and appealing. Instead of unattractive and unappealing. Sure, many great-looking women do. The T-vixens are testament to that. But many gorgeous women prefer a leaner, less muscular look.

Most men prefer smaller, less muscular women, too. One reason I learned to play bass.

All kidding aside, what has always bothered me is that some people think your body is public territory. I have had strangers come up to me with some inane comment and feel my shoulders and arms. Much like when I was pregnant with twins, these same type of folks would put their hands on my belly. I am flattered but annoyed. Guess I just have a large personal space.

For sure. I think muscular women definitely have it a lot harder, in fact.
I have to agree, muscular women make it alot harder.

And that’s a damn shame. All that hard work and no one to appreciate it. That’s ok, I appreciate it.

Be more humble. There is nothing cooler than a easygoing big dude. You know he is in control of his world and doesnt need to do any postureing. He knows he’s big cause he’s worked hard to get there and doesn’t give a rat’s ass what anybody thinks.

I completely agree with this.

But I still hate shopping for pants…
I agree…Pants suck, I have a 34 inch waist and have to wear 36-38 to fit my ass. Also, eating 6-7 times a day…sometimes I just do not want to eat ANYMORE. But, getting one nice complement from a pretty girl makes it all worth while.

I drove a Suzuki Samurai 4x4 (actually three of 'em) for about 6 years straight. The winters sucked because I had to use the doors and my thighs had permanent window-crank indents. In the spring-summer-fall, I’d keep the doors and soft-top in the shed and drove with my knees sticking out. (not my feet though, that’s gay)

I bought three of 'em so it was my own fault. Now I drive a fullsize Bronco.

When my friends and I would go four wheeling, we’d stop and fuel up the 4x4’s before the trialhead. I always walked out of the convenience store with a quart of 2% milk, Fig Newtons, beef jerkey, Gatorade, trail mix, and some peanut M&M’s for my cooler. That would last about 1/2 way down the trail!

Trying to be adventurous while keeping lots of food at the ready is a PITA. Ever try riding dirtbikes while getting light-headed from lack of food?

I wouldn’t trade big and strong for the opposite for the world. No way.

Yeah, that was your own fault. I jumped into one at a dealership just to see what it felt like and I still can’t figure out who would design a vehicle with the seat so close to the door that my shoulders prevent me from being able to close it. The only way to drive it would be to keep the windows down and permanently hang one arm out the window.

i am by far not overly strong or fit looking by major TN standards but at work i am fkn zues…i am the guy to lift anything, hang, drill, hammer move ANYTHING etc etc…and i work in an office sitting at a desk…anything that might sound like breaking a sweat…

moving things to the shed, archiving shit up stairs…IM THE MAN APPARANTLY…i work 95% with women, 85% of them are fat…maybe they need to get off their asses and do this shit…arghhh…ok, now im better

Yeah, it kind stinks when you need to open the door to roll down the window! Your shoulders are wider than mine X, but it was a tight fit in that area too!

I don’t know why but I tend to love small vehicles. MG’s, Bugeye Sprites etc. I owned a VW Beetle for a few years as well. In the VW, I was always having trouble getting it into 2nd gear. Ahhh, the sacrifices we make…

I was in Tokyo for the weekend and it was cooler than I expected, so I looked for a casual jacket to buy.

Three hours later, still hadn’t found a jacket big enough, frustrated and tired…aaagggghhh!!!
I can totally empathize with you on that. I’m not even big, 6’2" 200 lbs or so, yet it seems like every jacket in Japan is 3" too short in the arms and would only fit on someone weighing 150 lbs. Especially the ones I think look cool. Never in my size.

I just though of a good one… Anyone from the New England area who has been to the Polar Caves can attest. This little park/ tourist trap is really neat. It is basically underground caves and caverns that most normal sized people can explore.

The problem is that in certain routes the natural “tunnels” narrow down to a tight squeeze. My two friends (brothers) were like Irish twins and exactly the same size which was 5’-5" and 125-135 lbs tops.

They were able to keep on going but I found myself wedged in pretty good and unable to go any farther. I had to backtrack and come out the entrance and circle around to meet up with them. It got damn clostrophobic in there that day!

I really hate the “I used to look JUST like you, 'cept mah arms was bigger,” or “You’re young, that’s why you’re in such good shape!” Bitch I’m 27 and in better shape than a lot of high school kids. All these clowns claiming to be just like you, and the punks mean-mugging you(you can’t help but notice sometimes) bug me, but there’s nothing I really don’t like about being muscular and strong.

Thats funny coming from someone who hasnt posted his stats, or pictures for that matter.

And get an education, while youre at it. Theres no “E” in control. Theres also an “A” in jealousy.

I appreciate it…to a point. I think it’s much easier to cross the line and pass the point of being appealing for a woman. I wouldn’t really say that any of the T-Vixens who’ve posted their pictures on this site have. That I’ve seen. But plenty of the pictures in the muscular womens threads have in my opinion.

Alright. This thread is definately getting my vote for the most pathetic.
You bo-zos are making me laugh.

“Boo-hoo my shirts are too tight”.
Like one of the posters said…try switching to a medium from x-small.

“Guys check me out all the time.”
Sounds to me like your the one doing the checking out and eye contact. How the fuck would you notice otherwise?

“Girls are scared of me.”
Thats because no amount of lifting will change the fact that your an ugly motherfucker. The only difference now is that you’re also covered in zits.

I love these stupid stories.

“Everyone thinks I’m a bouncer”
That’s because you act like a fucking idiot swaggering around and giving dirty looks.

All you big tough guys…this is my advice…

Perfectly said. Every month or so, we get some self-serving thread about the ‘trials and tribulations’ of the bodybuilder - how people look at them because they bring weird food to work, how people get ‘intimidated’ in elevators, how zipper shirts just can’t accommodate their bulk…

And every time it gets dumber and flakier.

The bolded part is pure gold - though these guys act like it is a problem, in fact, they looove that kind of attention.

I love the attention to a point. I won’t ever lie about that. I also understand some of these guys just started and are just beginning to get some comments thrown at them and it is a shock to them. When I was in high school, if someone had made any comment to me about me “getting swole”, that would have made my day. The real question is, how negative is it really that people talk about it? Yes, some of these comments are pure bullshit because if you wear a size medium shirt, you don’t have any problems finding clothes. Those are the comments that should flamed because pretending you are the biggest man walking around your high school when your arms are barely breaking 15" around is just retarded.

3…I hate shopping.

I agree; clothes shopping is the worst thing about having any size. It is so damn hard for me to buy pants. If they fit around my thighs and ass, they are 4 sizes too big on my waist. If they fit my waist, I can’t pull them all the way up my legs. Also, I’m 5’6" so everything is too long. It’s real hard to find a pair that is 36 inch waist, 29 inch inseam, and loose in the thighs.
Agreed. I’m 5’7" 190lbs 30" waist. My legs and butt can’t fit into anything smaller than a 32 waist. And that is tight on my butt. As for the top, large shirts are too tight and I like to wear loose stuff up top not showing off any muscle unless I’m in the gym or on the beach. So I wear XLs but some XLs go halfway down my legs.

And suits…forget it. There’s a 16-18" inch difference between my chest and waist. And what do suits come in a 6" diffeence? And the f-ing athletic fits are a whopping 8" difference. Oh great, thanks.

Dmachine,

Where are you in China? When I lived there I trained at this western style gym and there were some big ass mofo’s there. Also, China consistantly wins weightlifting in the olympics.

It is true though that the girls don’t like em big. The biggest dude at the gym I was at always talked about how his girlfriend was disgusted with his size, he just said “I don’t care! Big muscles are coooool!”

I was in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. About a million people there. About an hour or two west from Shanghai.
I used to dislike the looks of asian women. Now that my opinion has changed, I am discovering that asian women would not like my look. Damn

Currently weighing in at about 120 kgs and about 6’3…sick of not being able to buy decent clothes that fit properly, being able to fit into small seats on public transport, movie theatres, cars, etc, etc. I actually reckon I’m over being this big. I love lifting and will do it until I die, but the size issue has really reached its breaking point for me. That’s why I’m in the midst of changing my approach and goals to something more akin to MMA conditioning/gpp/strength work. I honestly think that until you’re at the xxxl stage of shirt/jacket buying then you’ve really got nothing to complain about. Having to shop at stores where your kooky fat uncle buys his khakis is not my idea of looking good. Then again, I’m sure some 300lbers will flame me on this!
