Hell yeah. I sat through that whole movie to see the special effects of the world ending. NOT WORTH IT. The goddamn world didn’t even end.

I have to second that…I love Dirty Dancing!
And whoever said The Sweetest Thing was bad…did you ever see the unrated version? That shit is hilarious! I guess you need to be in a good mood and ready for a laugh to watch it.
I had to sit through White Olenader…absolutely the worst film ever!!!
“The Notebook”
Worst Movie Ever.
I watched it with my sister, I was either laughing or gagging the entire time it was so incredibly bad.

i have to admit, dirty dancing is so horrible i’ve watched it a few times. likewise w/ roadhouse.
Anyone who said Crouching Tiger or Meet the Parents is crazy. These are great movies. No is isn’t him acting like an ass that is funny, it is the uncomfortable feeling you have throughout…
Worst Ever:
Crossroads (the Brittney Spears one, not the cool blues one with the guy from Karate Kid.)
I know, it seems bad before you even watch it (or get forced to watch it), but you have to really watch it through to fully appreciate how bad the script is.
Spoiler: After going on the “road trip” in the convetable and locating her mother to find out why her mother abandoned her. “I never loved you,” she said. That is it. Her mother just never loved her. WTF?
The Pest was bad, yet somehow I kind of liked it because it was stupid.
Super Mario Brothers (the movie…)
Die die die!
I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing(for more than 15 minutes - I tried to watch it with my girl some time ago), but strangely enough consistently women come up to me to tell me I could be Patrick Swayze … I got the whole “black leather thing” going on too, at least that’s what I picked up from the movie.
My vote goes for Gangs Of New York.
Way blown out of proportion.
Leonardo Dicaprio is an ok actor(I actually adored the kid in Catch Me If You Can - that role was made for him), but when he’s trying to act tough, he blows everything. Cameron Diaz screwed up.
Only man that held the movie together was Daniel-Day Lewis.
Terrible flick, I was disgusted by how self-fulfilled it was.

What?? How can you not like that movie, if only for the artistry and imagery.
Because it is beyond silly. I couldn’t get past people flying all over the place.
I don’t care how well it was filmed, it sucked.
I san see why you’d say it’s silly, it’s obviously not mainstream. The flying bit touched on the oneness of the mind and body, not some superhero powers. It reminds me of teachings about chi and about mental strength vs physical.
I think you would have to have at least some background in it to understand that aspect of it. I never even considered it to be some take on superpowers so I am a little surprised that someone viewed it and considered it “beyond silly”.
I tried to watch it on TV and found it completely unwatchable. I couldn’t sit through it. Maybe there is deep meaning in it, but it I didn’t want to waste my time sifting through the cartoonishness trying to find it.
I would rather read a book.
Guys, guys, guys!
The flying in the Hong Kong period pieces has to do with the stories and the people in them being Larger Than Life. Many of the HK cinema period films are based on real characters who have reached legendary status in Chinese culture (CT,HD is one of them).
Through the telling and re-telling of these stories, the feats of these people have become exaggerated to the point of superpowers.
That’s the flying “thing” in a nutshell.

But…Angela Bassett was in it. I’ve seen it 4 times.
Angela Bassett — YESSSSS!
Unless I missed it, no one’s mentioned “Over the Top” that Stallone arm wrestling movie. I saw it 15-16 years ago and I can still smell it.

Me too. “The Life Aquatic” had a similar pace and attitude. You have to sit back and let movies like that happen.
I must say these two are best watched at home. All the antsy jackasses at the movies will skew your judgement and enjoyment.

I don’t know if this one is the worst, but it’s quite bad:
Liberty Heights

I read your post about being surprised that no one had mentioned this one. I listed it a few pages earlier. From articles I’ve read and people I know as well as my own opinion, it seems that this and Gigli are the two most widely renowned terrible movies.
hmm. thanks to 3toes post, i’ve realized that the paris hilton video is easily the worst movie of all time. call me crazy but i had that girl pegged for a freak in the sack. that frickn video has completely busted my bubble and destroyed some of my best…er…late night material. i mean god-damn, i can get better wood watching the algae eater in my fish tank.
that being said i hereby nominate the paris hilton sex tape for T-Nation’s worst movie of all time.
CAN I GET A WITNESS!?!

I thought Garden State was alright, if a little slow and pointless, but Life Aquatic? I feel the need to reiterate how much this movie sucked, both in the theater and at home. People were filing out of the theater like it was on fire. I tried to stick it out, but just couldn’t. When it came out on cable I tried again and at least made it to the end. Still didn’t like it though. Wes Anderson makes some of the worst modern movies I’ve seen. How does he keep getting financed?
P.S. - I’m suprised no votes for Eyes Wide Shut.

Dude, who is that sneezing in your icon/pic?
God’s and Generals sucked worse than Independence Day, I must say…
I’m sorry to have to do this… even mentioning these movies brings tears to my eyes and pain around my temples.
“The Unbearable Lightness of Being” which for some unGodly reason won an Oscar for best Foreign Film.
and… drum roll please!
“Eyes Wide Shut” Never in all my days have a waited and waited and waited for something of consequence to happen. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman should give everyone there money back for watching this crap… with interest.

How can a fantastic director such as Stanley Kubrick make such a horrible film? Just add Kidman and Cruise.
