His 2007 win is still the example I go to when I want to explain “hate f**king the competition”
Dude even his win against Poundstone in 2008. Just rubs it in when he slips on the stone and taps his back like a child. What a savage.
The one thing we lost when Mariusz departed was the somewhat lacking of professionalism that a lot of the athletes had as well as WSM being comprised of athletes who weren’t exclusively strongmen.
Like Raimonds Bergmanis, Misha Koklyaev, that one fat bald guy who looked like a bowling ball. I mean the list goes on.
Anyway…I had no idea Mariusz was THAT bad of a person. I just googled him with the word crime and found out he was holding refugees hostage with a baseball bat in some kind of truck. Wtf?
I remember that from a wild back. Translations were rough on it. I think some had it as a labor strike or theft of property or something. Apparently it was some trucking company he owned.
Ahhh Mariusz.
One of my regrets is not pushing my wife harder for the name Mariusz… Mars for short.
The first of Martins!!!'s behind the scenes videos just posted. Really, really funny and insightful stuff. Much better than Shaw’s.
Mateusz is now my favorite strongman…
Yeah awesome video now I just want to see him earn his 100$! Was so excited!
Brian Shaw just finished 7th at the Arnold Classic in Europe. End of a great career.
He has over 1 million subscribers on his YT channel, so there’s that.
I think he got injured (again) but I think dropping weight was a mistake.
Novikov, JF and Mateusz were insanely impressive at Barcelona. So impressed.
Saw JF at the Arnold down under, he seems like a nice guy and a serious unit.
Thor is in Dubai hanging out with Martins, weighing 175 kg, about 50-60 lbs lighter than he was at the Arnold 2019. Plus a lot weaker. Wow, his off season is crazy different than his “on” season.
Shaw is competing, has dumped the Vertical Diet, claims his nutrition and training are on point; so if he does not perform well, again, will he finally admit to the end of a great career?
I’m watching as well, 1,49$ for a pay-per-view is just too good.
I don’t even know who I most want to win. I’d like Hollands to do well, but of course he’ll have nothing to do with the podium. Will be interesting to see if Shaw is able to turn the tide.
The accepted online theory seems to be he’s trying to start a family.
Is he even competing? He did a bodybuilding show not long ago.
He is. Pulled 400kg and called it a day. He’s also going to compete in the World’s Strongest Man Masters next weekend.
His wife is like 5’2 (and smokin), I felt bad for her when she just had to have sex with that giant, but now she has to give birth to his child and I’m genuinely worried for her safety.
Might be a case for c-section 3 weeks before due date or something like that?
Anyway, SPOILER ALERT:
Heinla won the deadlift with a 450kg pull, Pritchett and Shiv joint second with 440.
Shaw pulled 400 but failed 420, did not put on the straps of his suit for either attempt.
Wonder why he skipped the straps?
I’m looking forward to seeing how Terry does next weekend. I feel top 2 for certain
So… HCG and a TRT level dose?
