Makes sense, thanks. Still, I hope this shows just how strong your entire body needs to be to be able to do strongman… some powerlifters/powerlifting fans don’t give them enough credit.

I’m sad to hear that Mariusz is retiring, but how can I blame him when we both know he would’ve lost this year if it wasn’t for Derek’s tiny slip. So get out while you can, brother! Take it and run. Run away from the fight. From the challenge. Go!

Actually, mariusz retiring is old news. It now appears that he WILL be competing in 2009, and many people are taking this as an indication that an earlier rumor that WSM 09 will be in Poland may in fact be true. Having a chance to perform at the highest level on your home turf would be one very big incentive to come back for another go around.
thats going to be one to watch if poundstones in it aswell

Don’t know about anyone else, but I was not that impressed with Pudz 2008 win compaired to his previous blowouts. Yes I do realize that training, and competeing at that level is very taxing on the body. Not to mention the competition keeps getting better and better. To me, something was missing…
That is just insanely funny. The man can actually dance!

I bet he was standing on the sidelines, timing the other competitors with his stopwatch…
