World Records?

where is the best place to look up world records for powerlifting? including age classes.

Depends on the federation. Pick one and check out their records.

World records are listed on Powerliftingwatch.com Punishers info would apply to Federation records which are irrelevant.

Many federations have their own world records though, mainly due to the different rules per federation. What is considered the world record on powerlifting watch is not the world record for someone competing under IPF rules.

It’s why it’s ultimately going to depend on what fed you want to lift in.

Huh? Doesn’t each fed have it’s own records? They tend not to crossover unless completed in that particular fed.

Doh, missed the

Serious response:

Yes many feds have their own records, but imo Plwatch all time records are split up reasonably. They have Full meet s/b/dl for tested and non tested, bench only for tested and non tested, and then they have the current rankings readily available for N.america.

It’s definitely reasonable, no argument from me there. I’m simply saying that what is considered a “world record” will depend on a few factors.

It’s a fractured sport, for better or for worse.
