I plan on being there and I did go to Vancouver. I am a 52kg female and my lifts in Vancouver were 55kg and 127.5kg. I had such a good time in Vancouver and I’m pretty excited to go to New York.
edit: oops I lied, I actually pulled 125 and failed on 130
I’m thinking of competing. I don’t know how competitive I would be, but it would be fun nonetheless.
Currently I am around 225-230lbs with a max bench of approximately 375lbs and a max deadlift probably in the area of 460lbs. I know my deadlift should be able to go up quite a bit with some more effort. I’ve never competed so these are just gym numbers.
I didn’t compete in Vancouver because of some shoulder problems.

Good stuff sensgirl, I guess I will be seeing you in NY. This will be my first time at the games, really looking forward to it.
Trevor, my weight and lifts are pretty similar to yours. Still have a lot of time for improvement. I’m just going for the experience and to have some fun.
Hi ,
I know no ones posted on the topic for some time, but any of you guys and girls going to be competing in New York. Seems the Powerlifting event is just Push and Pull, Bench and Dead lift comp ? I will be attending with other Firefighers from the UK , not to sure if the Firefighters charity will be organising a GB Team to travel out togeather or its just down to the individuals to arrange there own trip.
Yeah, the lifts are Bench and Deadlift only. They are talking about adding the Squat back in, but I don’t think that’s going to happen before 2011. Typically they only allow a belt for both lifts, no wrist wraps, no other gear. Vancouver was awesome, I highly recommend participating if you are eligible.
Also, make sure to book your rooms and travel soon as it’s going to be a madhouse!
