Good evening everyone. First time posting in almost 20 years however Ive regularly viewed some of the topics found here.
My question is: what workout program I should start after having completed a 8 week GVT to include a tapering phase? It’s been a very successful program for me (strength and size) - largely because of my workout partner pushing me further than I wouldve gone. Anyway, my goal is lean out. I understand diet will play a huge factor in this as well.
Can anyone point me to a workout program (10-12 week) for leaning out? I remember Chad Waterbury once had an entire excel sheet/file dedicated to different programs but I can’t seem to find this.
I think a good heuristic for training is to avoid the middle and swing from extreme to extreme.
GVT is extremely high volume with low intensity. It stands to reason that a useful successor would be something high intensity with low volume.
If you weren’t leaning out, I would suggest DoggCrapp. However, since you’ll be in a caloric deficit there’s a chance that somewhat lower intensity strategies like Yates’ blood & gut or “Best Damn Workout Plan for Natties” type training are better options. That said, those programs are still very stressful, and you’d need your nutrition, hydration and sleep to be on point
There used to be one on the forum years and years ago, but it’s been lost in the site renovations. Not the end of the world though, since pretty much any Waterbury routine is reliable and effective when followed properly.
CW’s Summer Project is a pretty popular fat loss program a lot of people have had great success with, and it hits a variety of rep ranges throughout the week so it’s a very different stimulus like J4gga was talking about.
