Best Workout for Cutting

Now… the title is a little murky… But what work-out program do you think works best? Fat to Fire, Meltdown, CT’s program?

Or do you just think that it’s 90% diet, 10% not working out like a weenie?

Thnaks guys.

I’ve done Meltdown’s I & II and loved the results. The above mean nothing however if your diet is not in check.

CT has argued that weights only help maintain the muscle and don’t play much role in the actual fat lost.

That may or may not be because there’s never been a time when I was doing either program and not eating well, doing energy system work and supplementing.

I will say this, anecdotally, I feel like fat does not come off my waist as well if I’m not doing Meltdown-I-style lifting. I’ve never gotten BF tests to corroborate, so who knows.

Best of Luck.

I think it’s 95% diet, and never, ever working out like a weinie.

I’ve never tried those particular workouts, but anything from this site is a good workout.

Good luck.

I was quite satisfied with Meltdown I. The vertical training program keeps workouts interesting and since completing it i have been doing alot more supersets. Meltdown is a definite change from most programs and so growth can still occur.

Would GVT be a good cutting program?

I totally agree. Although some workouts are hard to complete with cutting of the calories, but if it was easy, everyone would do it

I just completed meltdown 1 and had great results, bodywieght stayed the same, but I lost fat, and gained muscle. I haven’t got a post-program BF measurement yet, but the mirror shows great improvement.
It definitely burned the most fat from my extremeties, and less from my mid-section, but great progress all over.
I would highly recommend it!

I personally think it would be way too much volume. Not enough calories to cover the muscle damage; therefore, some possible muscle loss.

I’ve personally done MD 1, MD 2 and got great results from both- although being “Cardiovascularly Challenged”, I much preferred MD 2 a little easier on the lungs and vomit bucket! I also did GVT way back in the old Muscle Media days (I can still say that can’t I?!) in trying to gain mass- but I couldn’t keep the weight ON!? I was eating pie, cake (yes! in addition to my already quality diet) and the weight would just drop off! I have had good success with my clients in using it as a fat loss program- for those who can tolerate it.

TEDK

I don’t change much, I still train heavy when I’m cutting. I just lower the volume when I feel a bit beat up.

No need to change the way you’re training, add some cardio instead. Personally I like HIIT.

Thats what I’m leaning toward. I’m already fairly lean and so I might just hit up the Velocity Diet for a week or so… Kinda like the touch up he mentioned… I was planning on doing the ABBH… We’ll see how it goes. I think my body can make it through a week or two of dieting without falling apart.
