Workout Fads That Drive You Insane

Bullshit. How would you know this? Do you know every “ab peddler’s” educational background? Do you know if this is the ONLY thing they are peddling? How much research have you actually done into The Gazelle and its effectiveness? Have you read any studies on the issue?

If you honestly believe that everyone needs to be deeply researched before you can make any type of comment on what they are SAYING RIGHT NOW, then there is no point in going further. Your life will be greatly sidetracked in the future if you truly think this way.

oh Horseshit. Unlike the bizarre scenario you describe, I do not experience these things as though they were abstract entities. I familiarize myself with broader schools and principles therein. Therefore, when joe ab-peddler wants to sell me a machine that promises me everything I have already tuned it out because it either goes against better principles i understand or is irrelevant to the process i have chosen.

And what is this “deeply researched” bullshit? Did I say “deeply researched”. Once again the patented Prof X strawman tactic. Shit, the author in “question” is widely available, the principles are somewhat common among some peers, its not the Ph.D adventure you are implying.

Why is everything always about you?

You are claiming that anyone who is voicing critique on the delivery method of a trainer/author must research his entire repertoire before any such critique can be made. That is ridiculous.

Is “strawman” the word you immediately run to the moment someone points out that your logic loses ground in any other similar situation?

If George Washington Carver had made a marketing claim about peanutbutter along the lines of if being the only one true snack that should adorn a piece of bread, does this mean no one could voice a critique of that method without having researched everything he had ever done with a peanut?

I mean, I honestly feel I am insulting Carver for the comparison alone.

Well said…

The constant hyperbole in his articles bug me too. Are over-the-top claims really necessary to sell books and attract new clients?

Wait!!! Have you read EVERYTHING the man has ever written before you critique?!

I demand you become a loyal Waterbury disciple before you voice a criticism.

Has anyone seen my candles and shrine?

I sent off my check this morning to join the fan club. I can’t wait. If I work hard enough I might be able to reach ELITE SYCOPHANT status by the end of summer. Then I’ll have access to the top secret muscle embiginator techniques currently only available to ELITE SYCOPHAT members.
