Working Back First = Bigger Bench

So far personally ive only done this twice, but I would do back on monday and hit hard so it was really tight on tuesday and then do chest and attempt a max out and ive hit pr’s both times. I just hit 395 raw natural so steriods for recovery time is not a factor and nether is a bench shirt. I personally feel when my upper back and lower back are so tight it almost acts as a springs and helps me out and i believe I had 405 if i got a lift off were someone actually lifted it up lol.

so does anyone find doing any other body part before chest day help out there bench press??

Gives me an idea, but not sure if working back before hand helps

But having a strong back is basically a spring board for the bench press. Someone else who’s smarter will explain.

Good job on the lifts, asshole…i’m jealous.

Having a pumped up back really helps the bench as it acts as support and a spring board.

So the bigger and more pumped your back the more spring and support achieved.

Before attempting your 1rm do some high rep rows and pull ups.

I noticed this phenomenon as well. Before I got into WS4SB, I was following a crappy BB routine. I usually did chest and back separately, but I hit a plateau and decided to do antagonistic supersets with DB bench and Db rows. I would pyramid up and I noticed my working sets atually got easier as I moved along. I’ve read articles on this before, but I can’t scientifically explain why this happens. Any one know?
