Wooden Plyo Boxes

Does anybody have any experience with them? I found a guy who makes and sells wooden plyo boxes made of 3/4" ply wood and was thinking of picking up a 12",16",20" and 24" for $200. I’d be doing plyos [when my knees get better], box squats, step-ups, etc… He sent me a pic of him standing on one with 300+lbs of weight with a total weight of 500+/- lbs. Does that sound like a smart move or should I look elsewhere? Thanks.

That sounds alright, however, I would first do some research on just how much it costs to make a plyo box. I don’t think it’s that expensive. I’ll be making my own soon enough.

Don’t know if you checked my “building a home gym on a budget” thread, but my boy’s a welder. He welded me a badass power rack and is working on a prowler. Don’t know why I didn’t think of this first but just aske if he thought he could weld me some plyo boxes and he got kinda butt hurt, haha. So, the wood boxes are scrapped and my boy’s gonna weld me some.

LMAO!!! Yeah…I would have looked at you funny too! That’s a good resource to have, right there! Good luck to you.

Thanks man. I’ll post pics on the quoted thread when they’re done. Be easy.
