Won My Pro Card

Although I am still keeping up my contest prep thread (I have one more show this season, in 4 weeks and the prep will be detailed as best as I can), I’m sure it’s not interesting to everyone, so I figured I make my little announcement here:

Last Saturday, at the USBF NJ Natural Classic III, I not only won my weight class (Middleweight), but beat the other class winners to secure the Overall Win, and nab myself a Pro Card.

As the pictures from the professional photographer come in, and we get video off of cameras, I’ll put up, or link to everything I can off of the other thread, Just figured I’d share my bit of good fortune with the rest of my T-Muscle family

Very excited to hear this, You deserve it , grats!

Very nice job, Stu.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. It’s funny to think that I did my first show just a year ago (May 2nd 2009), and then 364 days later, in the same show, I nabbed my pro card. Actually, when I look at the just 3 shows that I’ve done…

1st show - won Novice Overall and Masters
2nd show - won my Weight Class
3rd show - won my Weight Class and Overall

So many people were pushing me to compete in multiple shows after the first one, but I think trying to intelligently and objectively work on weak points really paid off in the end. Now I guess the plan is to compete on 5/29 (now in the pro division), back off a little during June and July (promised my girl a little vacation in July), and buckle down a bit starting in August for a couple of INBF shows in the fall (Jim Cordova was the first to actually comment online that now I have to go after another federation -lol).

That little contest blog I kept last year really made me feel like I had such a great support structure on this site, that it was actually a constant source of motivation for me during my preps, both last year, and especially this year, when I really wanted to show what I thought I was capable of.

I guess this is a good opportunity to say thank you to everyone on here, those who I seek out their advice, and those who are constantly shooting me PMs seeking my own advice (makes me realize how far I’ve come, and how now it’s my turn to give back).

I’ve got the Overall video uploading to youtube at the moment, so once it’s done, I’ll put the link up and hopefully you guys will get a kick out of it.
