I’ve found guys that don’t have the backbone to stand up to a chick are the same type of sad guys that do whatever a girl says because he thinks it will help him win her affection. Most of these guys, even if they do somehow manage to land a girl in a relationship, usually end up getting cheated on because they are sad guys. Do you think a girl really wants a man that she can walk all over? I feel sorry for you in your relationships if so. Then what can you do when some crazy bitch assaults you? You can’t defend yourself, the cops will laugh at you, so the only thing possible to do is just letting her to attack you? You can’t always talk your way out, rationnally at least. You still can run away, but when some bitch can rightfully leave you with the only option of getting the fuck out whenever she pleases, there is a problem.

As far as the chivalry thing goes - I really do believe it’s a bunch of shit that’s on the way out. It was a social phenomenon that originated as a result of women being considered powerless and inept by the societies in which they lived. But we’re living in societies that regard women equally compotent and able as men. If women are my equal, then it doesn’t really make any sense to go around pulling their chairs out for them and doing other silly gestures. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that chivalry might be offensive to some women because it implies that they’re weak, inept, and can’t pull out their own fucking chair.
As far as the original topic is concerned, I think I’d probably call the police if I saw a man hitting a woman, but if it didn’t look like the woman’s life was threatened, I’d keep the fuck out. I would imagine most men could restrain a woman without beating her.
