Having just started off season training. I have a few solid leg workouts under the belt. So I know exactly where my legs are.
So I’m out skating practising form and pushing some solid strides. Once I got to the burn, that I’m working them now feeling. I really love to push it hard when I feel the muscles responding to the stress. It’s the same with the Iron.
I don’t ever see myself being content with what I am. I have never lacked the desire to improve myself in some physical way. Challenging myself is one of the most rewarding feeling I’ve ever felt.
Now that 50 is 51 it’s the same game as yesteryear. I seek perfection knowing full well it can never be achieved. I can find flaw in anything. Yet I am as driven today as I was thirty years ago. My drive is as intense if not more so than it ever was.
I can’t explain why I’m like this and other are not. I am just thrilled to death that it’s not the other way around. This life just gets better and better.
The more I push the more amazed I become. Where will it end or better yet just how fuck’n awesome can one become. I for one will not be content, ever!
I think the key is to set goals and be happy when you reach them…then set some more. I like the feeling of knocking those goals down just like dominoes and I’m gonna set them up to be knocked down again.
This is why Crashing Around You is a great refocus song in the weight room:
I am your heartbreaks, mistakes
That place inside your hate
I am that shadow following every move, reminding you
That it’s never good enough, never good enough
Even though you’ll try and try

Turk: What!?
Dr. Cox: Do you understand that the second you look in the mirror and you’re happy with what you see, baby, you just lost the battle?
Turk: You should give speeches to teenage girls. [/quote]
A: You need to get out more, or at least watch less tv.
“All you can expect from perfection is but a moment”
I’ve been content, for a moment. The first time I benched 100lbs, the first time I tried oly lifting, the first time I tried…ah forget it, not sharing that one.
My point is that there is always the next challenge, in the gym or out of the gym. I think people who stop looking for them die a little bit every time they pass up an opportunity to do more.

All we ever have is the moment.
I think challenges are wonderful-and I admire people with big motors.
