Wife & I Starting to Workout Again

Whats up Nation... I'm new to the site... my wife and I were starting to work out again recently but she cluttered her schedule some more and I was hoping if there are things that she could do in a limited amount of time. maybe 30 min. She wants to tone up and really get rid of the fat around the mid-back area... is there something she could do? I really appreciate your time and suggestions thank you.

Try checking the archives for a Waterbury or Cosgrove program. The Cosgrove ones are especially friendly to those on a time budgest.

Total Body Training by Chad Waterbury might work.

The “Holiday” Workout by Alwyn Cosgrove. This article contains a good program and a link to another one he wrote the year before.

Those are just 2 programs to try out of hundreds, but they are good starting locations. Go to Authors up top and get familiar with a few of the guys. Christian Thibaudeau and Chad Waterbury is who I would start reading if I were you. Chad’s seem to be more friendly to the 3-day-a-week type people.

My wife and I started at the same time about a year ago, and what really helped us stay in the gym and stay consistent was finding a good trainer to get us started on a basic workout and nutrition plan based on our goals/schedule.

The most challenging part of supporting each other was the nutrition aspect. We found that it was easier to workout for 30-45 min in the gym 3 times a week than to maintain eating healthy small meals every 2-3 hours every day.

Every time we would “start again,” our eating plan would become compromised after a few weeks, leading to compromised results from the gym, leading to disappointment from working out consistently but not seeing appreciable results, which then lead to loss of motivation.

If you can relate with this, then I would suggest you both get in on getting the nutrition consistent even though the workouts might not be as consistent with a busy schedule. That’s what we did, and we found that it helped us the most.

Thanks Lonnie, the articles were great reads and kinda help us figure things out for her. I think you have a real solid point drmbldr nutrition has actually been our hardest thing to deal with. But I do know some minor tweaks can actually go a long way. I appreciate your help guys, thanks
