Why Your FOREARMS Suck!
mason33 wrote:
The problem with that is you are still not using enough weight to destroy the forearms.

hey mason,

I thought you were against ‘destroying’ a muscle group?

I was under the impression that you think only split-system bodybuilders ‘destroy’ a muscle group and need AAS to recover?

what gives?

Bullshit i do no direct forearm work and i have great forearms.

Your size, body fat, lifts, whatever you want to judge can only go so far. I dont care what YOU look like or how BEEEG you are, I didnt feel it was neccessary to torture my self and sift through your babble to try to find any legit points.

there are guys bigger than me that know more and better, and there are guys smaller that know even more. Guys faster, guys stronger, and slower and weaker, we may just have different goals or different life styles and responsiblities that keep us from being where your graciousness is with your HYUGE forarms.

is your reiteration of ‘pussy’ trying to compensate for something? why beat your chest when it isnt neccessary.

edit: i meant to qoute a post by the OP where he was mentioning how 160lb guys argue with prof X and etc. Granted Prof X is always right, in other cases, classification based on weight and body fat my not be representative of a personals overall knowledge/awareness.

Canada: I can’t tell if you’re being ironic or retarded.

Whoever the First Guy is: Like calves, forearms are one of those things you either got’ em or you don’t.

We’ve all seen guys with great calves or meaty forearms who’ve never even darkened the doorway of a gym…

However, “genetics” are no excuse for not trying your hardest to build your pipes. The other day, I saw a guy with really short attachments on his forearms, but he’d developed them quite well. I was very impressed.

good luck with your 40 lb wrist curls guys. just don’t ask me anymore what i do for mine.
We don’t need to ask you what you do for your forearms, we already know. Frankly I’m shocked and saddened that the only training you give that bodypart is when you jack off to gay goat porn.

stupid

This thread is a waste of cyberspace.

I can’t believe there are so many thin-skinned people on this forum! So this guy has some pretty strong opinions about forearm training. So he says to quit being a pussy and lift heavy- BIG DEAL!! If you’re not a pussy, his post doesn’t apply to you. Getting all defensive about it just makes you look like maybe you are a pussy…

It amazes me to see someone on a site called TESTOSTERONE Nation talk about “chest beating” as if it were a bad thing! Guess what? Aggressive men go primal and beat their chests every now and then! Its usually the delicate little nancy boys that get all offended when that happens!

I don’t agree with the exercises that mason cites, but his training philosophy sounds pretty damn solid! Now get the sand out of your clit and go lift heavy or shut the hell up!!

Begineers use anywhere from 100 to 150 lbs or 100 to 200% of your 1RM for Reverse wrist curls and double that weight for wrist curls. Intermediates and advanced will obviously be using 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 lbs and so on.
Fantastic. Now I’m going to be seeing a bunch of guys doing squat rack wrist curls.

I’m not troll whatever that is etc and i’m not as big as you all might be, but i’ve read some Waterbury articles, he alludes to the secret i think… High Frequency.

He said it himself (and if he’s right, the problem will never occur again) that mechanics use their forearms in direct gripping exercises daily… and have huge forearms.
I don’t know about you (you may all work in an office so it’ll be harder to grip heavy shit throughout the day) but my plan is just to grip and pinch heavy stuff, as well as the obvious DLs and rows.

How can it be so irritating to explain forearm training, that you want to shout ‘pussies’ at the top of your voice so many times? Chill man

I hate to say it,but he’s right.
And,this is for those 90 pound kids who are crying about their forearms not growing.
If you guys have good forearms, then why give a shit what he says?

Now,back on topic.
I try to push the limits every single time I hit the gym.
I always try to aim to lift 5-10 pounds heavier on most,if not all, every week.
If you’re lifting heavy weights on exercises like deadlifts, bench press, shouler press, upright rows, you’re gonna build muscle on your forearms.
I never really work my forearms.

Having high testosterone doesn’t mean you have to beat your chest like an ape.

Nothing a well-placed kick to the junk won’t remedy.
dannyrat wrote:

Very true, but their grip work is far from static. They’re constantly opening and closing their grip as they rotate wrenches, sockets, etc. This is the key for most people that aren’t on the far right end of the bell curve.

That’s precisely what it means. That doesn’t mean you should be stuck in a perpetual state of ape-hood. There is a time and a place for everything. If the forums on TESTOSTERONE NATION aren’t the correct place to partake in a bit of apery, there is no hope for real men anywhere!!

All I’m saying is quit being so damn sensitive!!!

Dave Tate touched on the issue of forearm development.

Here are some pointers I took form his article and some of my own

Exercises for SWOLE forearms;

-Reverse band wrist curl
-Chain reverse curl
-Fat bar box wrist curls
-speed reverse curls
-band hammer curl with weight releasers

Special techniques

-15 min. of Jerkin your Gerkin
-rub motor oil all over your forearms, because we all know mechanics have JACKED forearms.Make sure to leave on for full shift (9 to 5 minus breaks and lunch)

For these techniques to work you must consume 1 full serving of Surge pre, during and post workout.

As you leave the gym with your newly jacked forearms, pop the collar on your polo shit, hop into your honda civic with the hack sawed springs and spray painted interior and hang your DIESEL arm out the window.

Youve earned it.

Here’s something really simple:

Every time you pick up a plate, do it with only one hand. It may sound silly, but doing this over the entire course of a workout give your forearms a LOT of extra grip work. Just be sure to lift as much with your left as you do with your right.

We are all poorer for this thread’s mere existence.

wow, all i did was identify the T-men from the crossfit pussies. I will still be getting asked what exercise i do for my forearms tonight at the gym. i wasa hoping they would stop asking.

well, at least the guy that is carrying the several hundred pound stone in his hands still doesn’t have to ask.

Even with the answers directly right in your face, the pansy boys still wanna cry and find an easier way to build massive forearms without ever doing any real gripping, lifting or curling.

Keep identifying yourselves. I’ll leave the rest of the thread for the pansies to cry about me telling thme they lift pussy weight, while the guys with bowling pin forearms just skip over this thread because they have deadlifts to do. Then after that the T-men will be doings farmers walks with 200 lbs in each hand. And the popeyes will be trying to budge 500, 600, even 800 lbs in a simple standing behind the back wrist curl in the power rack.

If you’re going to use the squat rack, or a power rack… at least now you will have several 45’s on each side of the bar and have a reason to be there in the first place.

Nice to see there are still some T-Men out there lifting some serious weight and carrying those boulders around in their hands. Makes you think, what ever happened to our testosterone anyway? Is is dissipating and the human race is going to all look like Leonardo DiCaprio soon. I’d like to think a woman is still attracted to a amn that represents one. And powerful forearms are a sure sign of great strength. Even if they can’t see the rest of your body when you have a T-shirt on. They can shake your hand and notice the defined striations and bulging mass of meat packed around your lower arm.

want bigger forearms?gain weight,thats it.
