Good. Don’t click on that forum and all of your problems should be solved.

Which was my original point. It is voluntary participation. I still think it is a double edged sword – someone somewhere is going to alienate someone else. Only history will see who is correct.
I think in general all threads should be member moderated, that would be friggin’ sweet.

I think the HUGE thing is that Alpha is unmoderated. I was never really aware of some things happening on this site until Prof X’s thread.
Most people weren’t, and apparently, they still aren’t.

2. While I actually like most of posters using it I don’t consider any of them to be ‘elite.’
Being elite is not the prerequisite for this cell.
Being respectful of the goals of others is.
??? That doesn’t fit the original Alpha members’ posting habits. And hundreds of posters here respect others’ goals, so they should be in the Alpha cell by your reasoning.
Are you joking? Most of the people here seem to act as if bodybuilding should be avoided like the plague because they read it on this site often.

What frustrates me is that some of Biotest’s authors wrote that way to try to lure more anti-bodybuilding general public into buying their products. They aren’t much better than EAS/Muscle Media, which, gasp, they enjoy insulting so much.
I feel like T-Cell Alpha is their cheap attempt to apologize for alienating the veterans over the last couple of years. A lot of serious lifters who finds this site will be stuck with the knowledgeable newbies and the swole 140-lbs. teenagers until they get invited. If they don’t get their invitation by then, they may give up on serious forums and move somewhere else.
So far Alpha isn’t a bad read. I’m interested in how it will hold up beyond this weekend.
I’m interested in reading it… just wish I could pop in the V-Diet thread to flame it a little bit.
This is why the t-cell exists. There is a serious discussion going on and if it were in the open forums, it would be 3x as long bc it would be full of bullshit and people chiming in just so their post count would go up.
RJ and ProX, all I ask is that you occasionally make time for the politics and world issues forum. (oh and if i could get a “Rush Limbaugh for Pres.” game-worn t-shirt that would be great too)

LOL - game worn t-shirt? That’s going straight to the Smithsonian, baby.

Dammit RJ, I have already played this out in my head so many times. You’re my Mean Joe Green, substitute the Coke for a Metabolic Drive protein shake and it’s us!

I think ProfX would be the more natural fit for the Mean Joe role. I could be Jack Ham, if you know what I mean.
I’m not quite sure what the gripe is about. There are members who want a discussion away from moderation and who are more like-minded in that they take this area of their life seriously.
It’s not like those that are in the T-Cell are going to suddenly stop posting in the rest of the forums.

RIP Goldberg and Patricia…and many others who left who were exactly what you are talking about.
Damn those were some good members. Goldy was a cool dude as was patricia and KO were too. I will never look at superwomen the same way as after those pics…
One common thread is that most of us have shown consistent support of “Testosterone” and “Biotest”, and probably will continue to do so even if the “Alpha-Cell” goes away tomorrow.
Some thoughts to think about
Alpha is NOT meant to be this great bastion of knowledge, written on Stone Tablets, for all the World to gain Eternal Wisdom. That is some strange fabrication that somehow has developed in the minds of people.
If you are waiting for that, you’ll be waiting for a helluva’ long time!
We are just a bunch of hacks who lift, who want to discuss Bodybuilding.
That’s it!
Again; it’s not so much what will be discussed in the Alpha; it’s what WON’T be discussed, all without Moderation, and all without someone’s derision of Bodybuilding.
TC must have a gun at his head right now!
People scream about Moderation; and now they say they want MORE?
(It’s okay, TC; take a Xanax!)
GIVE IT TIME, guys!
It ain’t elite!
It ain’t Mount Sinai!
It ain’t the Death of Civilization as we know it!
My guess is that knowing human nature, the privilege will be abused, and it won’t be along for long anyway.
But in the meantime, I’ll do everything I can to help make what I hope is just the inaugural Cell succeed.
After eight years of reading this site, I tend to learn more from random posts on the forum from a handful of members than from 95% of the articles. Hell, I don’t even bother reading most of the articles anymore, with a few exceptions (CT’s stuff, Poliquin, a couple others). Reading the T-Cell is about twice as efficient as cruising through unrestricted forums since I don’t have to wade through as many useless posts to find intelligent opinions that are actually worth seeing.
I can see the OP point about the T-cell taking attention away from other boards.
But, at the same time there is the other side where hopefully there is a place people can go and not have to wade through all the BS, thus the t-cell.
I never went into the BB forum in the past because I wasn’t interested in it. Now that I am, I went, and apparently people who didn’t aspire to get “big” would go in and ruin the forum.

…Or just about any other they should so desire to troll.
