Why Not This Post-Work Out?

What about chocolate milk, the poor man’s PWO drink?

I don’t understand you guys and your milk-where I come from to stay lean -no milk

keep in mind when your body gets any sort of alcohol cells immediately prioritize the digestion of alcohol(ethanol) before they digest ANYTHING else. It also puts your body in fat storage mode so the food you just ate turns into fatty mcgee…

Alcohol also oxidizes into acetic acid, not good if you need to stabilize pH and it causes dehydration.

And do you know what can cause these symptoms:

nausea
dizziness
muscles twitches
blurred vision
seizures/convulsions

Oxygen.

You can’t live without oxygen and I can’t live without beer so I won’t have another bad word said about alcohol while I’m around.

I’m sorry for asking this dumb question, but some sugar is a must post workout? A guy showed me some of the stuff he was using PW and it seemed like a pretty good product designed specifically for PW. The thing is, it only had 5 grams of sugar. I thought sugars were a must and when I asked him about it he said I didn’t need em. The product is called After Max by Optimum. I’m currently using countdown until I can put a 100$ order together and get some Surge. Thanks guys.

I used that when Surge was out of stock awhile back. It tasted like shit and there were really no fast acting carbs to immediately replenish glycogen. I believe the jug even toted"complex carbs".

Countdown however is a very good product. That’s what I would use if I couldn’t get Surge, but Surge is a lot cheaper and a superior product in my opinion.

I think I heard masturbation can cause those. That doesn’t make it a good post-workout meal though.

Nor does it rule it out…
Do you know what the nutritional analysis is?

Where I come from- dairy farmers sons are the biggest mofo-s around. They may have a little gut to them, but with all due respect to you sir, if your primary goal is leaness, why not go to a diet site?

barney get the cow out of your butt before you talk

also barney leaness means less on the fat side=doesnt ’ mean skinny or no muscle-if they have a gut they need to lean out

and really cutting out the milk would be a good start for them

I love milk. How can you live w/o it. Nothin like a cold glass of milk with a 1500 calorie dinner.

I come from a town where some of my friends parents are dairy farmers and they’re powerlifters with some of the best numbers in the entire nation.

It all depends what your goals are.

You two!

  1. I know a lot of dairy farmers/kids, and three of them are real big and strong, but most (the other 25 or so) are not particularly strong or above average size at all.

  2. Few of them drink a lot of milk, and its not related to size.

  3. Having a gut does not mean you NEED to lean out. The cows don’t care if you’ve got ripped abs he he. Actually though, a gut doesn’t mean you need to lean out. You can have a large stomach from lifting heavy things, and “ripped” abs year round probably make you medically underfat for health purposes.

  4. It’s also interesting, I realized that non of the dairy families I know have anyone alive past 65. If they stay on the farm, they either die or heart attack or cut off their arm-and die of heart attack by then. Its sad.

  5. Milk causes short term water retention. If you are so gay you need ripped abs year round, you probably don’t want it, but aside from that, there’s nothing particularly wrong with milk for adding LEAN mass.

it’s not gay to have a flat stomach

or unhealthy

I didn’t say it was gay or not healthy to have a flat stomach. You entirely missed the point.

Milk probably causes a small amount of subcutaneous water retention. As a result, you may have a flat stomach, and some ab definition, but you may not be able to get rid of the last little bit of water under the skin needed to get ripped abs.

I think its a psychological dysfunction for someone to think their abs have to be ripped to this degree year round. Defined and flat-yes.

Your comment was essentially that you couldn’t drink milk and be lean. Since you certainly can drink milk and have a flat and defined midsection, then I have to assume you are worried about milk because of this last little bit of water retention that happens to go along with dairy products.

If you have to worry about this last little bit of water retention associated with milk, then that is not healthy.

no it’s that lots of people -milk makes a plateau in fat loss…it’s a chemical reaction-

Got any references there sparky?

It’s pretty well known that milk can cause a large insulin spike – which is certainly counter to release of fat from storage at that time, but beyond that… I’m skeptical.
