waw those dummies who say cardio is the way to go, if you want to lose fat, need to see this.
And those dummies who think weight lifting isnt a fat burner. (ive talked to alot of them)
Good Job.

4000-5000 calories – a day??? Wow, I’m only at about 2200(eating all these veggies has really lowered my calorie intake)

If you’re not trying to lose weight, you really shouldn’t be eating less then 3000 cals a day at your weight, especially if you’re following Berardi’s guidelines. If you’re trying to gain weight, you’ll need to eat at a surplus, which would probably be around 3500 at first, and then go up as you gained weight.
You deload after every 5 lb increase on your lifts?
I’ll bet if you eat at least 3000 cals a day, and really push yourself at the gym, your lifts will shoot up pretty quickly. There’s no reason not to be adding at least 5lbs to each of the lifts each week, and you really should be able to add much more. What does your loading progression look like?
And yeah, that transformation is pretty awesome. Good work.

awesome work mate… thats my goal by the end of the year. started in january at 24 stone. just got under 20stone yesterday! strength is still going up and i can actually see some of my muscles…
did you change your diet much as you got smaller and smaller?

To be honest, I just tried to make sure I ate healthier for that whole year by slowing taking out crap from my diet and replacing it with better things, and making sure I got my ass to the gym and lifted as hard as possible. I didn’t cut out alohol for the first 8 months (I just tried to consume less of it and less often), and I didn’t even look at my caloric intake until March of this year.

im not looking at my calories… just carb. 30g is the magic target.
no alcohol in about 4 months.
4 weights sessions a week. 4 Power/saq fitness sessions (ladders followed by carrying stuff, sprints etc.)
and i coach kids sports all day so ive got the cardio etc sorted.
