Why Egypt Sucks and Why America (Canada too) Doesn't...

Well, then let’s just go redo the Nuremberg Trials. After all, our Natural Law was used.
Right, I must have forgotten that you invented morality and therefore monopolize it. Which is ironic since the Nuremberg trials were necessary because of one overzealous, mustachioed Catholic in particular. Too bad he jumped ship before the trials occurred. I’m sure he repented just in time, though.

Is now a good time to say that both Egypt AND America sucks and Scotland doesn’t because we have the Loch Ness monsta. Seriously, how can either of you call yourselves players when you don’t even have a fucking dinosaur???

Ya I know, Egypt isn’t Afghanistan. I’d hazard a guess that people in the rural areas are more backwards in their thinking than people in Cairo, but still.

yeah cairo is pretty much like any other city, however when u get too the rural areas things are a little more traditional and u hear some weird shit.

guys grow their little finger nails to break the hymen on the wedding night…

and wrape a finger in a white cloth to soak some blood up to show the family the day after etc…

But this is like rare these days, and the people involved are pretty inbred, have no teeth and are pretty much illiterate, almost like Alabama.

let’s generalize a little bit.
What has the whole arab civilisation given to the world since a couple of hundred years?

Like this: City Questions Circumcision Ritual After Baby Dies - The New York Times ?

You’re right, nothing more benign than an old man cutting up a baby’s dick, then sucking on it, giving him a fatal case of herpes.

In the grand scheme of things, female circumcision is a bigger issue. However, in either case it is genital mutilation, it’s barbaric, and it should be treated as such.
Moral equivalency question: What should progressives and liberals be more concerned about?

A) A handful of orthodox Jew nuts who suck blood from circumcised dicks because it’s in accordance with ancient tradition?

B) Several hundred million+ Muslims who cut their daughter’s sex organs to mince then sell them to whichever old man has the greater number of goats to offer?
Read my post again, because it directly answers that question.

I also have no interest in turning this into a gratuitous “liberals vs. conservatives” debate. I think that nonsense has polluted enough threads. If your views of the world are facile enough to fit into a tidy little category like that, then you are probably neither very smart nor interesting.

These are human rights issues that EVERYONE should be concerned about. And I absolutely refute moral relativism, btw. I think it is a plague upon society, and it is has significantly alienated me from contemporary liberalism.
‘A gratuitous liberals vs conservatives debate’? My views don’t fit into categories like that. I could be described as ‘left-wing’ because I believe in freedom and democracy and such. I could be described as ‘right-wing’ because I believe people should work for a living and not collaborate with sand Nazis and such. I could be described as ‘liberal’ because I support liberal causes like democratic Israel instead Hamas. I could be called ‘conservative’ because I don’t want a fucking Marxist/socialist revolution in my country. No ‘tidy little category here’. Just sanity.

As for your distaste for ‘moral relativism’, I’m just fucking speechless. I mean I wouldn’t want to upset your sensibilities by suggesting something like Al Qaeda being a greater moral evil than the US government. It might ‘polute’ any debate to make such moral distinctions.

Actually there’s no evidence available to show who invented hummus. It’s been around too long. Could very likely have been the Jews.

Canada may be a great place but we really have a lot of shitty singers…that’s true.\

The only good Canadian singer is Gordon Lightfoot.

Neil Young is someone to be proud of. Even though I have no interest in his music, anyone who says Michael Buble isn’t a talented singer is just wrong
