Like I’ve said before, if someone like Bonez had typed the same exact words, none of that shit would have happened. They MAKE this shit about me no matter what I type.
It is strange as all hell but has happened since 2000.
I think it is a defense mechanism…because on a bodybuilding forum, if you are getting pissed because someone is questioning your progress made, something is wrong with you.[/quote]
It’s not that strange, I’ll break it down for you.

Bonez speaks the truth without making it personal. If somebody disagrees with you, you criticize, name call and play the race card without hesitation.
-
Bonez is actually lean. You act like you are the be all end all authority on all things bodybuilding when you are fat as fuck and have a physique nobody here wants. It’s even worse because you think you’re the shit. Be like Mighty Stu, diet down, win a contest and you’ll get the respect you think you deserve.
-
You have no sense of humor, no people skills and are just overall an unlikable person. When you say “If somebody like Bonez would have typed the exact same words…” it doesn’t apply, because he is not a giant douche bag and wouldn’t make retarded threads like this.
I think it’s safe to say that the majority of people these days only workout because they’re bombarded with things telling them they have to. How many of the people working out around you are really their because that’s their lifestyle and they want to see how much they can accomplish?
Everyone that is influenced my the media to hit the gym generally either achieve moderate aka newb gains and are content with that simply because standards are so fucking low these days. Or they accomplish nothing simply because the gym is the last place they want to be on earth.
I’m not claiming to be a beast or anything, for the record I’m 5’10, 181 lbs @ 10% and my lifts are certainly nothing to write home about, but really…why does it matter how much other people are apparently sucking?
I’m sure a lot of people simply dont want to be huge. I’m pretty sure thats the honest answer more times than not.

Why? Because in the context of this forum, it can reduce the learning or experience gained by those who are much more serious. That discussion I had with Stu this morning is an example of that. The subject matter can benefit many of us…but how many would get what they are supposed to from it if most of the people chiming in are the type who really don’t want to work that hard anyway?
This is one reason the T-Cell was created…but everyone can’t post there and my goal is also to see this forum reach a level as a whole where many more here than currently are making the same progress as the few I keep mentioning.

No offense, but we’ve been through this. No one is expecting all people to have the same goals. I am talking about WHY so few ever move past “works out”. If this were not the BODYBUILDING FORUM, you would have more of a point. Regardless of how big you really want to be, if you are here, the goal should be to NOT be average looking…because that ain’t bodybuilding.

It’s because you come off as egocentric/arrogant in most of your post.
P.S: I’m not hating, just stating what I see. If you think I’m excusing my self for the lack of progress I’ve made (yes I wasted A LOT of time but I managed to get my shit together) then I can PM you pics of my progress so far.
Why don’t people make more bodybuilding progress?
Why don’t people pursue advanced degrees?
Why don’t people make more money in their careers?
Why don’t people parent their children more effectively?
Why don’t people live morally upstanding lives?
Why don’t people work on their emotional issues?
Why don’t people maximize their physical health?
Every one of these questions comes down to a combination of education, motivation, and ability. And nobody is going to achieve top 1% of the population in all of them. All require time, dedication, and resources that have to be prioritized, and there is no magic answer for everyone.
I think another way to ask the question is:
What results are you achieving as a bodybuilder, relative to results in other important areas of your life? Are you investing the energy, commitment, and dedication necessary to achieve all of those results? If not, why not?
PX asks a great question, I just think it needs to be applied to all the priorities in your life. It’s easy to get tunnel vision, only to realize years down the road that you were ignoring what matters most.

u mad?
haha, bonez does look good. but he’s a 170lb midget. i want people to not have to ask me ‘oh do you workout?’ even when i’m wearing my hoodie and freezing my nuts outside.
i suggest breathing into a paper bag.

Posters like this are really funny creatures.
Do you lift weights?

Fair point.
But I’m still confused as to why you don’t divide your time between here and boards in which HUGE BODYBUILDERS are the norm and moved FAR past average quite some time ago (eg, 19 years old).
I think for a lot of people its fear of being a success.
As for me…I train the trainers at my gym lol
they are CSCS

I understand that, and I’m sure if you had things your way, someone like me wouldn’t be able to post here. The reason why I even entered this thread was because I saw that you started it so I figured at the least I’d pick up something of use. When it comes down to it though, this is the internet and unless this forum gets heavily regulated, all reading will have to be filtered through a heavy bullshit detector.
The way I see it, it’s simple. It’s hard to make real progress, very hard. Those who simply don’t have enough will power or dedication simply don’t cut it and just hit a plateau and stay there for pretty much their life.
I’m not putting anyone down who doesn’t desire to make progress nor am I talking about that. What I am talking about are those who want to progress and voice it, but when it comes time to put in the real work don’t because it’s a lot of work. Not everyone is cut out for success in bodybuilding or any strength sport, they’re very tough both physically and psychologically because they require you to do more than just show up.
The people who irritate me the most are the very one’s I speak of. Those who complain that their lifts aren’t going up, or they’re too fat, or they aren’t big enough, but simply don’t put in the work necessary to get there when it comes time to do so. I would say that a large majority might fall into this category.

I think you are mistaken about my take on things if you think I would try to get you to stop posting. I WOULD try to get you to stop giving ADVICE if you were the type to do so until you made some real progress. That is all I am getting at. You learn by hanging around people who have made more progress.
My training partner now is someone who competed in the last Branch Warren contest in Houston. It is pushing me to a different level and out of my own comfort zone…and I’m not a newb. I know that if I was not surrounding myself with people like that, I wouldn’t be down in weight right now more than likely.

LOL…so these responses are from people who think they are putting me in my place?
It’s been ten years…how is that working out for them?
I never understood eating until I got to university with the “all you can eat” meal plan. People are astonished at how much food I eat, after the gym is it 4-5 plates of whatever is there. Then later on in the night having 2 footlong subs has become a regular occurance, might stop though, gets expensive. I am no where near an advanced beginner, although I have been putting on weight and getting stronger. I am still learing little things that make lifts feel better or stronger. I find that my mind is hard to get right when I am in the gym. Some days I can really isolate a muscle, I mean really feel it and other days I just can’t seem to focus. I was watching a video of a bodybuilder who said there should be anger that you can call on, or a place you go when the weights get heavy. Like I said sometimes I feel invincible and sometimes I just want to leave. Motivation is a fire that seems to dim, I don’t know, maybe I don’t have it or maybe I haven’t realized I do.

After reading that I realize that’s what my mind was trying to put together this whole time, this is what happens when I try to join conversations on a forum. Some of my original attempts at giving advice were in the BB forum and I believed I was called out by either you or Bonez, best thing that could have happened honestly, eyes/ears are open and mouth is shut. It certainly is a shame this approach is something most people just won’t grasp.
