Why Don't I Look Like a Fuc@ing Monster?

WTFFFF, your back has legs and arms.

Deliverance, a bit of advice/experience of what might happen between your ears.

You’re more than likely going to experience a psychosomatic event where your brain tells you you’re getting fat and it’s time to trim down before you reach your goal.

You’re going to have to be a man and remind yourself with gains in the logbook that it’s not fat but muscle and so forth.

I think “looking like a monster” is an attainable goal, but maybe set a body weight goal along with that, and don’t stop till you get there.

People are going to say “you’re looking bigger!” and “Are you gaining weight?” Since you were a fat kid that shit might sting. You can’t let it sway you though.

Yeah, i guess thats what ive been worried about. Why cant i have casey viators genetics or something! lol. Setting a bodyweight goal sounds smart. 190 would probably be a god starting point u think

Your not getting it… no one can honestly tell you what to and not to do for your body… what we can tell you is that if you want to be a “monster” your gona have to go without hawt abz for a while…

Here is the deal… get a scale and a tape measure… figure out how to get X,XXX number of callories a day and do that for a week while lifting heavy (pick a basic program and stick with it)… each week weigh yourself on saturday morning after you take a piss… if your weight goes up but your waist size doesnt… keep doing what your doing… if your weight doesnt go up… eat more… if your waist goes up more then you want it too, cut back 100 or so callories, up the cardio… repeat…

Keep a food log, and a weight / waist log for a while, in 6 months youll know your body and you wont have to ask us what your doing wrong other then just checking up…

SOunds good. I’ll switch to a more basic program next week and have already started massively eating…al clean shit of course. I’ll post pics a few months down the road and see what happens

good man.

+1 lol

If someone has average (or below as you may well have) genetics for getting a beautiful body it may not be POSSIBLE to get the type of body you want (which will be unpopular here i suspect).

For example, sometimes a person is simply not able to achieve a certain look, let alone in a few short years.

Let me put it like this - training to achieve a beautiful body takes a considerable amount of time - those who are in great shape in just 2-5 years tend to have the genetics to look like that anyway (low fat, wide shoulders, slim waist etc.)

You have not only be training just 4-5 years, but at least half of that will have been learning HOW to train effectively, and you are likely only just learning your body now.

When i say to people ‘it takes years’ they think 1 or 2 years…! Nope. I mean if you train for aesthetics, it is something you do forever, with the kind of results most really fantasise about taking a good 10, 15 or more years for most.

IMO.

As for advice, i would look to diet - that IS the key for you. As a FFB (you, not me) you sadly have to eat cleaner than most - with carb control being a lifetime fact if you want ‘abs’ etc… (no, not carb cutoffs a-la DC).

As for doing DC for 6 weeks… well if you really expect changes of that magnitude in 6 weeks then you have not been training long enough anyway.

+1 Your saying out loud what few people here want to hear!

my 2 cents instead of flaming lol

I come from a scientific mindset, so my way was to really be anal about it and measure everything. This way I was sure as hell what I was taking in. My strategy is low ascent, while maintaining a fairly low bf%. Let’s just say Thibeaudault saying stuck with me : “you don’t want to do it with the lights turned on twice a year” lol

but them again, I fully assume my strategy will be slower for gaining 20lbs LBM over time. Still, I’m not complaining. I like the wow factor of very low BF% with muscle definition. Personnally everyone is apalled when I tell them how much I weight. ALL, and I mean ALL of them say “my god you look a lot heavier”

not too brush against the grain, but I guess there are more than one path to climb a mountain, depending what peak you strive for

my 2 cents

That may be the case but very few reached the peak of the mountain I’m climbing using your strategy. If your goals are “a little muscle mass”, by all means, go as slow as you want to. If it took me several years to gain 20lbs at your stage, I would consider that a failure and a waste of time that I do not have to waste.

Ummmm, get stronger?

I mean, seriously the more I think about this thread the more it gets to me.

You lift non-monstrous weights and are confused why you don’t look monstrous?

Do any of your lifts even break PLUSA top 100 for your weight class, or even the weight class below you?

dude just a question, don’t answer but for your reflexion. Why are you thinking to take some days off DC?

I totally agree. I am not deluding myself that in order to conserve the low bf%, I’m taking a hell of a detour up the mountain. My attitude might change in time. For now I’m just saying, there are more than one path depending on one’s goals. Mass + fat, then cut is much quicker, I have to agree.

This a great way of going about it. No reason for things to get out of hand; the waist measurment/scale/pics never lie.
Great info here, thanks!

How about getting on the Size Surge program? Search it and you’ll find it. Great program.

X is a monster, and he weighs 100 lbs more than you. Problem solved?
