Why does it have such a bad rep amongst folk on here??? I mean some of the profiles on there are the match of any we have on here.
The only other BB site I’ve been on was abcbodybuilding.com and that was a few years ago. That site blows…I got banned from there because I would argue with people over Christianity. In retrospect, I should have never joined there.
Because…
A.) 78.193% of the people of the site probably only do good, quality isolation work.
B.) The other 21.807 have decent physiques, but are douche-bags.
C.) Member ‘Power’ is dictated by popularity.
Right, since it is so much better at T-Nation, because…
A.) 50% of the regular members think you shouldn’t train any muscle group directly, even though no bodybuilders do this and no one has ever seen results this way
B.) 49% are teenagers and washed up middle aged guys obsessed with “fitness” and organizing their diet down to a microscopic level so they can keep their abs and impress teenager girls - while never making progress. ever. in spite of all the advice they will give, even to people bigger than them.
C.) 1% work hard and have payed their dues for a long time and actually stand out in a crowd. But they’re all jerks because they advocate craziness like “train your arms if you want bigger arms” and “KISS”.
D.) Member ‘level’ is dictated by the amount of time and money a person has invested in the supplement company that sponsors and controls everything on the website.

Well, when you put it like that…
Plus the mentality of someone over there is different than that of people on this site. When someone from over there comes here they usually bring that attitude that doesn’t really fit with the overall theme of this site.
The only other site I’ve really spent time on was wannabebig, before I got banned for arguing that not EVERYONE should use H.I.T. training, and also arguing against the flamefest that ensued whenever a new member joined the site and had the nerve to suggest that HIT wasn’t really what they wanted to learn about.

well said!
Go read the posts…
BB.com isn’t all that bad. It’s a good place to compare prices between various protein products and the likes. Also they do have articles that are comprised of much of the same information you’d find here(or anywhere else).
I don’t read the forums there, and I don’t read the articles all that often, but when researching a specific topic, I have been linked to there, and found solid information.
It’s major problem, best I can see, is that it is simply too big. Every company is represented, every obscure and meaningless product is featured, and there are 300 articles for every topic.
So, simply by virtue of its size, there is a ton of crap on there. But I think anyone that knows what they are looking for, and isn’t naive enough to trust only one source for their information, can find BB.com to be helpful.

I completely agree. I only go there to buy my multi/zma. Some of there articles are pretty good, but I read a lot more on here.
Well, they do have the lessons on the 5x5 Ripptoe program, so that’s a good reason to go there every once in awhile.
I dont really know why it has such a bad rap.Its a good site.Plenty of quality info can be found at BB.com .They have alot of fluff on that site but u get that with so many members.
The scary thing is T-Nation is slowly becoming like bodybuilding.com after so many years of giving that place shit.
This use to be a hardcore website but since its lost that and gone more mainstream it not a popular(in my opinion) with the hardcore lifters as it use to be.
Dont get me wrong i still love T-Nation and visit nearly everyday, just saying bodybuilding.com is just as good as T-Nation.
The number of people that post here AND there that don’t actually work out is painfully astounding… So bothersome.

I agree its a clash of attitudes, bb.com is all about peacocking and image, mutual back slapping, its a BB forum! this is to be expected. T-Nation is a more mixed affair with bbers and athletes bringing a certain grounding to the affair

oh shit lol, i was reading this at first thinking you were talking about BBing.com and im like wow that sounds identical to this place lol
people here dont like bbing.com because they use confusing terminology like “lol” and “rofl”. i think this site definately has more over the hill lifters…kinda shown by the “over 35 lifter” forum.
lol@ the people getting banned for arguing against what majority of the site thought, no matter how stupid it was…ah, so familiar.

Shit. 35 is over the hill? Guess that means in another year and a half I’ll have to put down the barbell and take up knitting or something.
I tried to get into that site and I just can’t do it. There may be some great info there but there is too much to sift through to find it.

Haha I loved this thread. EE’s posts were so fucking hilarious I almost pissed my pants a few times.
Side note: There were some good discussions on that thread about the state of T-Nation as it stood at the time. It was basically a discussion about how we needed a T-Cell before the idea of the T-Cell was manifested. Good stuff.
