Oh ok. For my night time protein I usually have about 150 grams of cottage cheese, mixed in with a tablespoon of peanut butter and a handful of almonds. Getting a bit sick of it, thinking of getting some Casein powder.

Casein powder is pretty crappy for a lot of people.
I just eat a tin of mackarel fillets, or some sardines or some chicken.

In what respect is casein crappy for most people, does it not bode well with them? In the past I’ve used ON’s casein a lot, however when they switched ownership I noticed the quality went down a bit. Must be cutting the costs!
Thank god quark is cheap here.

I’ve finally found what works for me when it comes to getting strong and building muscle and i’ve put on 20 lbs in the last 3-4 months, but i just feel unhealthy in my day-to-day life (not very mobile, feeling too heavy, and not as quick as i’d like to be) and it seems that while my strength is skyrocketing my fitness level has clearly taken a huge dive. I pretty much always eat clean yet still manage to get big. Should i keep training heavy or switch up to light weights?? i weight 5’11 250 lbs and have a slow metabolism[/quote]
Feeling good has less to do with how much you can bench press than you can imagine. Weighing 250 pounds at 5’11" may just be too much weight for your frame to carry. I’m not against gaining muscle, but not at the cost of your health and emotional well being. Also when it comes to health there is a multitude of things to think of, here are just five:
Food consumption- If you’re eating foods from McDonalds or any of the fast food chains, or any other junk food then you are never going to feel as well as you could. They put these foods together without thinking about health, just profit. So buyer beware!
Relationships and peace of mind- Sometimes I get a kick out of guys who think that because they train hard they’re going to feel good. Training is important but what about your emotional well being? Do you treat people appropriately? Are you honest with yourself and others around you? Generally are you at peace with those who touch your life?
Air-I know this might catch you off guard, but if you are not breathing properly and taking in good clean air (do you live in a polluted area?) then you will never feel good. Most people breath from their chest. Some also take shallow breaths as well. Try breathing from your stomach as in letting it rise and fall as you breath. And deep breath as well. Take a few minutes 3 or 4 times per week to practice this type of deep breathing.
Sleep-There is nothing that can replace 7-8 hours of good sound sleep. There has been study after study to back this up. Don’t take my word just google it and you’ll see how important sleep is. You can have almost everything else together but if you’re not getting the proper amount of sleep you just don’t feel right the next day. And if it’s cumulative then you are never going to feel good.
Fresh vegetables % Fruits-I know that most guys your age trying to build muscle are not all that interested in eating fruits and vegetables. But they are packed with natural enzymes, catechins, antioxidants and phyotchemicals which really help you feel energized. Try to have at least 7-9 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. You will feel an almost immediate difference.
I hope this helps. Congrattulations on your achievement but remember that health is best found with balance, in your body and in your life.
Take care and best of luck!
Zeb
I can’t stop laughing! This thread is killing me. Also lol at the poster before me. Wtf is that? In the context of this thread that just seems like a joke. Sorry, if it’s not. And I think you misspelled your name, ZEN.

Me: Why don’t you follow his lead and just chill out, man?
Ct Rockula: I’m chill. I’m chill as a cucumber, man.
Me: You don’t seem chill.
Ct Rockula: I’m more chill than you.
Me: You’re more chill than me?
Ct Rockula: Yeah.

Ct Rockula: A suit.
Me: Yeah, exactly. I don’t know what’s up with you, but I don’t know if I like you.

I was not joking at all, it was a sincere effort to help someone who said that he felt “unhealthy”. But if that made you laugh than I did a good thing because laughter is on the extended list of things that will help you to feel good. It’s nice to be in your 20’s, but that just doesn’t last. After about 35 or 40 if you don’t have a strategy for staying healthy, fit and strong it all pretty much goes away, as you may find out.

That was a great post written with the intent of helping someone. You should try it sometime.
I’m also wondering what your cardio consists of. Weighing that much can be quite tough on the heart and lungs, so you might want to prepare them for the job.
