This guy has been chosen by the editors of the site to be teen transformation of the week. This isn’t just some forum post.

Since you’re opening this up I’m going to go with Catholic, obviously. Don’t know if there is any other christian denomination that has such a poor rate of keeping followers right now.
I also started out with my dad’s old muscle and fitness magazines, then onto FLEX and got into the bodybuilding.com site. It used to be semi decent but when they changed their site layout and got extremely commercialized about 4 years ago they really went to crap. I do kind of like their bodyspace thing though. It’s pretty cool!
Using the term T-man is pretty gay in my opinion. And I’d echo what Professor X, Zap and others have said about this site.

AT LEAST as much here. But I DO think it at least gets denounced more quickly and more vocally.
But what will happen as the experienced lifters get sick of it and leave?

Exactly…

The bottom line is that the original argument (from Professor X) is one of the weakest and most ridiculous I have ever read.
If someone believes that God helped them hit a PR, good for them. Absolutely no reason to knock him for it.
I consider myself “religious” and I think that knocking someone for this gets very old
Where was God when I dropped the bar on my chest last week? Where? WHERE? Where was he then, huh???
Just kidding guys. Sorta.

Although true that it doesn’t really prove anything it makes perfect sense in addressing the comment that whoever it was made that t-men don’t offload their personal responsibilities on some deity. He’s acting like believers are necessarily weak so it doesn’t take a deep statement to disprove that it only takes a weak statement. That is all.

If God is omnipotent… can he create a stone he cannot lift?
Just a play on words, still fun to think about.
As for choosing him for transformation of the week, it honestly wasn’t that bad of one for a 16 kid. He lost a considerable amount of fat, and put on a decent amount of muscle in not a whole lot of time.
I’m not saying I am amazed, but it’s respectable… physique wise, not his writing ability.
On a personal note, I prescribe to no religion… in the words of Ziggy Marley, “Love is my Religion”

Wow. The “original argument” was the one stating that “T-Men” are mostly agnostic. You know, the one that degraded the beliefs of quite a number of people by acting like belief in a higher power equals a juvenile mentality. How is it “weak and ridiculous” to point out that belief in a higher power isn’t a trait of a weak intellect?
Head of the class, huh?

I think it’s sad that needed an explanation, but whatever.

This “T-Men” crap has gone too far, especially when you are trying to speak on our behalf about something that is extremely important to other people. I think a “T-Man” could show respect to someone else about their beliefs even if he thought it was silly.
BB.com is HUGE and therefore has everything T-Nation has as far as a population but magnified multiple times(and we don’t have IFBB pros here do we?). If someone was so inclined to find the percentage of clueless trainees on that site and compare it to scale with this site I don’t think their would be much difference at all.
Agreed. I read X’s post and then immediately thought to mention what you wrote here about scale.

Actually, I prefer to blame God for my misfortunes, but never give him the credit for my successes. It just makes me feel better about things, you see.

True, I believe in God, am a christian, and don’t think I’m stupid because of this. I think it adds to my life. Believe what you want, I don’t care. but it’s not polite to seemingly attack the beliefs of others for no good reason.
Religion is a faith based thing. If someone wants to credit God, let them. It doesn’t hurt anyone for someone to say god was with me. It doesn’t hurt you to hear it.
Nobody who is stupid ever thinks they’re stupid, just look at me. I think I’m a genius, but I’m actually a complete moron.

It does make me laugh though. Just kidding!
After reading the link in the OP I noticed it was taken out of context here, which made it seem like he was saying “god gave him the gains”, instead of “god” giving him the determination, etc.
Either way, props to him.

I bet God was sitting there thinking “pride comes before a fall, and I can’t wait to see the bar drop on this guy’s chest because he put on more than he could handle.”
