Rigert, in his era he was untouchable in his prime, and had a fairly long reign… and I think he still holds the WR press. Broke WRs in all three lifts, very rare in his day
My other favorite weightlifter is my brilliant self.
I used to Clean+Jerk 205 pounds.
Oldschool: david rigert, phil grippaldi, Serge redding, please bring back the press!
Current: maligov aftter i saw his post of a 200x5 clean off blocks this summer
Physique: klokov and stoitsov
All time favorite at the end of the day in all aspects… Klokov
David Rigert… sure he had a great physique but I liked his toughness and I can relate to him since I too have less than optimal shoulder mobility (must be the traps
).
Big fan of Stefan Botev too… mostly because my first taste of weightlifting was through the 1995 training hall tape from Ironmind where Stefan was heavily featured. I do like his technique too, I wish I had his jerk!
As for modern lifters I could easily quote a popular figure like Klokov, a star like Ilyin or a technical master like Lu Xiaojun but for some reason I really like Rostami because he lifts with pure power and speed.
I also really like Mohammed Ehab because he thinks outside the box and is not afraid of using weird exercises to accomplish a specific purpose.

Kianoush Rostami is a BADASS. Loved his performance at worlds
Koklyaev, never made the top stage, but was incredible in Russian weightlifting meets. Also an all around great guy that I look up to.
My all time favourite is acually many. The whole bulgarian string of lifters of the 80s.
Arsen Zlatev did 405 kg in the biathlon in 82,5 kg class. Nenon Terzyiski clean and jerked 171, 5 kg in the 56 kg class and I could go on and on.
So did Asen Zlatev of bulgaria
