I’ve read John Berardi and Chris Shugart recommend “whole grain bread” (however you
define that), but I’m having a really hard
time finding anything like this. It seems
like most bread is highly processed and very
high GI/II. Do you guys have any names or
brands that you recommend I should look for?
Thanks.
The only places I’ve found it is at a health food store and a bakery - not all supermarket bakeries have it though. Supermarket bread sits on the shelves for days and is loaded with preservatives to keep it fresh, you need to look in the ‘fresh bread’ area. I don’t know where you live, but there is a bread company called ‘Montana Mills’ that has great whole grain breads. They have a web site - I’m sure you can figure out the address! - and you can actually order the loaves on line if you want. (but they’re pretty damn expensive!)
Ezekial sprouted bread is great. You can get it at “whole foods” supermarkets and most healthfood stores.
I like Healthnut bread. I think it’s made by Oroweat. Still, I only allow myself two slices a day and none while cutting up.
