Hey Jim,
When bulking and eating for performance do you think it matters where your getting your calories, for example eating whole foods (chicken, beef, eggs, milk) or will you get the same results eating processed or fried foods.

Depends on the person but I perform better and have more energy when I eat less shitty food. And still put on decent mass. You can gain weight either way but I like feeling good and eat for that
Turning the switch to just eating less is far easier than having to eat less and stop with tasty, salty, fatty bad food.
Build habits, don’t bandaide symptoms.
It does matter - somewhat. The term “it depends” is perfect for this question.
For the most part, yes, eating whole foods (2-4lbs of beef, 12 whole eggs/day, rice, etc.) is going to be better. HOWEVER, one of the good things about slamming some double Whoppers is that you can get a shit ton of calories in a short period of time. Now Planet Social Media frowns on this but the truth is that when you are a young kid and can use your ribs as a xylophone, you need to get some calories. I don’t know a single big, strong dude that didn’t eat some shit on his way to a huge squat/bench/deadlift. They may tell you one thing but the truth is another.
Also, understand that as you get older, things change. Again, “it depends”. You don’t need to slam Whoppers to put on size/keep your size.
I would advise you to learn great eating habits but don’t be afraid to “do what is necessary”.
This is a very strange time in the Training World. I don’t envy people trying to make their way now.
