Hmm only works on barbell or thinner handles anyways
Belkin took the lead with a 445 kg/ 981 lbs pull @ 110/242 weight class for a new ATWR.

Seems like he did deadlift-only today.
Weighing in at only 103. To think he could have pulled that as a 220 without much of a weight cut. Madness. Looked like he had a little more in the tank, not sure why he didn’t go for a second attempt.
Was most certainly all planned out in advance or at least deciding not to go heavier today as he warmed up and took the attempt.
Assuming he wanted the record and warmed up accordingly for only one attempt. Last warm up was 415kg I think so opener level. He has employed similar strategies in the past. Leave some in the tank to build on. No doubt he is eyeing 461kg now having made some progress for the first time in a while.
I’m most interested in how he has managed to bump he deadlift again having seemingly been stalled for a while. Was it training with a deadlift bar? Shifting focus/resources away from squats or doing sleeved squatting to accomplish similar?
A week after breaking the 110 kg deadlift WR, Yury will be competing deadlift-only at IPL on November 21st, presumably taking another shot at the raw deadlift record across all weight classes. There will be a Russian livestream for this meet. What do you guys think of his chance of breaking the record?
447.5kg let’s go
Are these openers?

Seems like it. So he decided to compete full power @ 100 kg I guess
To compete at 100kg he just takes a big dump before weigh ins. Close enough to the weight class
So I don’t know who this is, but 420 x 3 seems notable

So does a potential 475 x 1
