Who Eats Soy?

Who in here eats soy or foods that have soy in them( fat-free cheese, some low carb breads e.t.c). Have you had any bad side effects or noticed any difference in body composition or progress?

I drank a cup of soy vanilla light, and about an hour later my left testicle imploded. The right one shrank and all but didn’t implode like the left one did. Damn was it painful, and since then my libido has been in the tank.

I try to stay away from the soy drinks as a result now, but sometimes I still slip in a tiny sip, they’re just so damned good.

Good luck with it.

Uhhh… Soy turns men into little boys. not regular lil boys but the lil fat bastards like Jerry O’Connell in stand by me…

…Soy will lower your sperm count

…Soy will mess w/ hormonal development

I’m staying away from it.

Living in Japan, its quite difficult to avoid soy outright.

I don’t necessarily buy into the whole “Soy = Evil” argument, although it seems to be a mantra on this site. I’m not condoning eating slabs of tofu at every meal, to be sure, but I don’t think mild or even moderate consumption is going to make you into a weakling with breasts.

If you count soy sauce, I’d estimate that I eat soy every day. Miso, maybe once a week…although there seems to be some evidence that fermented soy products aren’t as “harmful” as raw soy products.

Also, I occasionally eat Tofu and Edamame (soy beans, still in the pod).

Not a very scientific analysis, I know, but I’ve eaten like this for several years. You can check out my physique in the RTP forum and judge for yourself if I’ve suffered any estrogenic effects. I can assure though that I am, in fact, horny as hell most of the time, although looking at creamy Japanese thigh all day is more effective for raising T than Test Enanthate

Fermented soy (sauce) = good

soy-soy (tofu, soy protein) = bad

Although, this only applies if you believe that phytoestrogen (plant estrogens) have significant estrogenic activity in the human body, which studies have shown it doesn’t.

I still stay away from it though, just to be sure.

this article is one of the latest on soy by JB, it’s a great read. One thing it states is that one must consume an incredible amount of soy for it to affect T levels.

I personally don’t consume much soy. Every now now and then I’ll have some with espresso and thats about it.

I tend to avoid unfermented soy -with the exception of Aussie Bodies Protein Delite bars, which do contain some soy isolate.

I avoid it where I can. The majority of the problems surrounding soy is where it is undeclared in certain products.

Unprocessed food FTW.

I unfortunately ate some tofu the other night and now I have DD man boobs, WTF is going on???

I think this hits the nail on the head. I think when you are eating processed carp, you will take in loads of soy and corn because we have to get rid of all the commodity corn and soy, being over produced. and I think that corn and soy in abundance is going to give a negative impact.

I also think that nearly anything in excess is going to yield poor results. Of course soy is going to kill you, depending on what group has the money at the moment, thats what you avoid.

Either way, I enjoy my soy sauce, miso soup, edamame.

Will i be drinking soy milk? no.
Soy protien? No

I love animals.

Am I going to purge becuase I realized I ate some soy, nah. If you eat clean and unprocessed I dont think you would ever have a problem nutritionally…ever. unless you are just an idiot, but you probably arrent if you are eating that way.

I accidently ingested a tiny bit of soy while dining at a Japanese restaurant… When I awoke the next morning in a haze, I found the directors cut of ‘Beaches’ in my dvd player, a few issues of Cosmopolitan laying on the floor, and a newfound appreciation for showtunes… never again my friend, never again.

Now you know. And learning is half the battle.
