LOL. This was a professional…still using the word “colored”…in 2011. Yeah, explain that away.
Oh please.

You keep adding to the story as it goes along and people change their opinions with new facts and details.

Maybe not all of them, the reality based community at least makes an effort.

If you wait for every last fucktard to wise up before you chillax a bit you will explode a vessel in your brain before you hit 50.

You know that high blood pressure is waaaayyyy more dangerous for black men than for any other race, right?

Its science.
Prof X told the story completely the first time he told the story, I have tendency to believe him.

Well, I am sure he knows better than both of us…who live in this city.
It’s not only in Houston, though my experiences in Houston are worse than my experiences in PHX.

Point, I was at a conference two weeks back, and later that day we were at a party with a wet bar and my buddy was ordering drinks for both of us. I walk up to the bar next to him directly from the door to grab mine. Though he is dressed better than me, is older than me, and had even given a small talk at the conference on his research he was asked by another man if he was “lost,” while I stood next to him and saw that the particular man had watched me walk in the door. However, he only addressed my buddy…give you guess what his skin color.

At first I didn’t think of anything, just thought the man had sincerely thought we may have walked into the wrong room and were crashing the party. Then I realized he wasn’t actually talking to me, and he had only done this to my friend and no one else. Even though there were several other groups of people that walked straight to the bar. The confirmation, total disgust and contempt when my buddy was given an award at the beginning of the party.

Wherever he did that, it was not in this here thread.

Yes of course, damn yankees. Some times people disregard things they just don’t want to believe which could be a good thing here. FWIW to the thread, I’m white. Scandinavian/German descent with blue eyes, blondish brown hair the whole aryan bit. I’m not just sympathizing with X. The sentiment is real.
What’s really funny is…when I say that…I am an “angry black man with a chip on hi shoulder”.

Why haven’t they said the same about you?

We both said the exact same thing. In fact, you were even more blatant…yet where are all of the people arguing with you that you are just seeing things?

Where are all of the posts about how “angry” you are even though nothing you wrote was angry?

The thing is, they don’t see how they are using stereotypes right now to come to these conclusions.

You just proved that.

They still won’t accept that I’m sure.

I don’t want to give too many details even though I think the guy just retired, but no, none of that was made up. It shocked me when he did it because he did it so casually.

I left out his profession here because I already knew what they would do.

I showed them that…and they are still fighting like I didn’t prove they will try their best to explain this shit away no matter what.

You’ve got more patience than me, X.
WolBarret wrote:

I know…but it isn’t like they can even argue against what has been said at this point without looking foolish…but I bet they will try.

They reacted just like I knew they would. That is why I used the term “scripted”. I could have planned this out word for word ahead of time…which is why I didn’t mention that guy’s profession again.

They refuse to admit that they maybe, just maybe, it is them who needs to change their world view.
WolBarret wrote:

Tell me about it.

What about you tell us how you’re feeling after your leg session yesterday?

I still hurt…but honestly, what real weight lifter doesn’t really live for that anyway.

Because you’ve been railing about race since you arrived on the site. Are you really that “self-unaware”? Or are you saying, like you imply above, that there is a double-standard? That there exists some yet-to-be named white member here, who constantly talks of and sees race behind everything yet hasn’t been called on it? Please identify him please.

They still won’t accept that I’m sure.
they are hiding guilt behind pointed fingers. Most white people have to override a learned but ingrained dislike for blacks. It’s like the first reaction is “that guy is black” and then “but he carries himself well and his pants fit, he could be ok I will him a chance.” This sentiment is fading with each new generation though. For what its worth, as unfair as it is, whites form their stereotypes bases on what they see and hear on the radio and tv for the most part. And the images put forth aren’t stellar. People who mingle know better but we definitely have white and black neighborhoods, churches et cetera and on both sides the other is the bogeyman. You are correct.

To not categorize or stereotype is to go against the very laws of nature. It is a necessary trait for survival. without the ability all higher level animals would have died off a long time ago.

The deer knows it should avoid lions, now there might be some nice vegitarian lion, but that is not a risk the deer should take, I know it is a poor analogy. But here is the thing, to stereotype based on manerism, dialect, the way you dress carry yourself, these things are not racism. They are good qualities and the fact that less and less people see this shows the loss of scientific and pragmatic thought in our societies.

Men and women are different, races have different genetic and phenotypic characteristics, it is the way it is. and to recognize those differences is not racist.

Now to be belligerent to someone solely because of their race or skin color is a different story. But seriously to undermine science and statistics because it might offend someone is idiotic.

Genetic predisposition to disease and behavior is a reality like it or not.

I am not defending racism, I am merely showing the absurdity of stating you cannot use statistics o help predict genetic or cultural influences in behavior.

I was very disappointed to not hear you yelling “Kill whitey” with each rep in those youtube videos.

BTW, all of those shirts you were wearing are awesome.

Fuck that, to say that “Most white people have to overcome their dislike of blacks” is stereotyping in the worst of ways and it’s utter bullshit, and fucking offensive to people like me who have never thought like that and know plenty of people that have never thought like that.

I wanna see those rednecks try it on me. Bring it on! Here’s how it will turn out!

I dont think there is right or wrong here. Didnt see the whole video, but who knows? Maybe some black guy murdered or raped a family member of one of the guys, or they got mugged by black guys. Sounds racist, and it is. All black guys are not criminals, but “an eye for an eye” is a principal I beliebe in.On the other hand, they might did it for fun. In that case, they are just psycopaths who have no use in this society.
Actually they did do it for fun they are white supremacists who wanted to go out and kill a black man just because.

Did you not watch the clip?

Sorry TN if this has already been addressed.

Lions and deer are different animals. One preys on the other. Both white and black people don’t prey on the other. For your analogy to work you’d have to use different colored cats, dogs or some other animal. While there may be evidence that a different colored animal is treated differently in a group of animals that share a similar color, these are just animals. They don’t have our developed minds.

I could be robbed or hurt by someone of a different color, but that doesn’t mean I need to hate everyone that shares that skin color. I can realize that there are millions of others out there and one or two bad personal experiences shouldn’t make me stereotype and hate that entire race. But it’s just easier to hate anyone for being a little different, even if it’s just skin color, religion, or some other stupid reason.
