You want to start a gin thread?

Careful - Orion might start talking about Hendricks Gin.

If you start it I’ll participate…let’s call it The Stonewall Gin Club For Ghey Men. If you’re vain you can add your name in the title. So, in full: Mud Lark’s Stonewall Gin
And All Things Gin Related Club For Ghey Men.

I added the “And All Things Gin Related” in case some of us girls want to talk about vermouth, tonic, olives or circumcised vs. uncircumcised. This way Lanky won’t have the leverage to ruin the party with a mean post such as: CIRCUMCISED?!?!? THIS IS A GIN THREAD!

You go ruin whatever party you want with that gin and penis talk, leave this here thread alone!

Wish I could, but I know very little about gin - at least I know very little about good gin.
Curious about the process. I’ve been to quite a few whiskey distilleries, but never seen gin produced. It’s mainly a British/Dutch product, right?

Fine… starting thread…

Ha ! Take that Lanky.

Gin is so much better than Whiskey. Ice cold gin, makes you want to sin! You got any cute cheers that rhyme with whiskey? Unlikely. Hey…here’s one…you suck whiskey, I’m leaving and you’ll miss me.

So long suckers! Good luck getting into the gin thread.

As much as it pains me to tell you this, we never accepted you into our little whiskey club to begin with. You came in here, acting all out of sorts about craft whiskeys and getting taken and it really put us all on edge. We were all uncomfortable from your mere presence in this thread.

Then you go ahead and try to nudge the discussion towards gin and we all knew it right then and there - this guy has got to go. You’re the sort of menace that leaches onto a thread with barely an interest in the topic at hand, constantly trying to shift the attention to something of more interest to himself, though not at all related to the original topic.

You’re the kind of guy who goes to a bible study session to discuss the newest Superman movie, because hey, they were both written, right? Trust me, sen, you’re not wanted here. Not now, not ever.

But do let us know you get from that membership you signed up for.

Bought it last week. A little scared to try it. I have their 4 grain, and their baby bourbon. $50 for 375ml, and I’m not sure it’s worth the money. But it makes me feel so snobby and upper crust to say it’s in my cabinet -

hey Lanky I hear you like you some gin? Just kidding…

Opened the Hudson Corn Whiskey. Tastes like ass. Only reason I’m still drinking it is because my wife is hording the woodford.

Haha, I just like how sen say had his ass handed to him in the gin thread for making a joke. I was going to invite cueball over here to talk whiskey but I’m afraid he’s going to beat us all up.

I’m skeptical of any clear whiskey, thanks for taking one for the team on that one.

Agreed. Has anyone else tried the Jim Beam Jacob’s Ghost white whiskey? I bought a bottle as the packaging was pretty cool, but not worth the money.

Never mind whiskey, I a number of years ago tried a shot of Jamaican rum. J. Wray and Nephew, the stuff was labeled 160 proof. One of my friends poured some onto a ceramic dish and put a match to it, a blue flame came up. I figure you could run a car on the stuff. I mixed it down with eggnog and I was still just about stupored after a couple of minutes, I just went to bed.

Sen - now that you have realized the error of your ways, can you handle this guy for me?

Clear whiskey seems to have a finer line between good and bad. Had a couple shots previously, unsure of the brand but it appeared fairly harsh with not a lot of after taste to it. Which I guess goes two ways. Been tempted to try a full bottle but really not particular on the outlay right now with what is stocked here.

Do you guys prefer a specific proof? I know push likes that 120 proof (which explains the hair on his chest).

I prefer somewhere in the 90 - 100 range, although it’s been inching up over the past couple years as 80 proof was my standard before I got more into the hobby.

I am totally on it. Thanks for giving me this chance.
