Whiskey!

light beer is for people who like to piss a lot.

My choice in beer has as more to do with why I am drinking it than anything. If I am with friends and just having a good time and need a social lubricant then its bud light. However if I am chilling at home and want to sit back and enjoy a beer or two Killians Irish Red or something similar is my favorite. Most of the craft beers I have, were not that enjoyable and had some very odd aftertastes.

My wife actually bought me some for Christmas … It’s kind of a trade off … while I tend to like my whisky neat and store it at room-temp before I used to drop one or two ice cubes in the drink, but then some of the flavor would become diluted. Now when I feel like chilling the whisky down some I’ll pop a few of these stones in there. They don’t chill it the way ice cubes would, but they also don’t water it down at all so, there’s a bit of a trade off if that’s your thing.

PS I just bought some Russel’s Reserve 10 year - it’s bourbon made from the dudes who make Wild Turkey … it’s pretty damn smooth

Also, Glenlivet 12 yr is a decent single malt under $40

Doesn’t do shit tbh. I’ve tried and tried and it never even chills my whiskey even the slightest. They heat up fast. I prefer just using a small ice cube now.

Lagavulin 16yr old, Aberlour 10yr old, the Glenlivet 15yr and Talisker 10yr are currently sitting in my cabinet.

They are all fine single malts for sipping or going the whole hog and completely forgetting what the point of anything is - AKA “the malt liquor madness.”

I agree, went last Friday and bought a bottle.

Nothing in the world like it. EVery bad decision in my life can be attributed to it, but fuck if I don’t love it.

And as for getting mean, I hang out and want to get laid when I’m drinkin whiskey.

Give me gin, and you’ll see a man get mean.[/quote]

I cannot agree more, with every sentiment expressed.

Yeah I brought that up in an old thread…I feel different kinds of drunk with different drinks and didn’t know if it was scientifically true or not.

I mean I get quieter and more sentimental and tend think what I consider deeper thoughts when I have whiskey and beer is just so much fun.

Yep.
I have a freind who calls gin “old man’s crying juice.”

Whiskey is more calming and helps me to mellow out. Really strong rum kinda has that same effect. Tequila and Southern Comfort make me do stupid, stupid things. Something about those two drinks, I don’t pass out. So I am far drunker and still mobile than I can get with anything else which usually ends up with something on facebook that I regret. Getting really beer drunk makes me angry and sorta belligerent.

Where did you find it? This stuff is pretty hard to find. I haven’t been able to locate a bottle, myself.

I’m dying to find a bottle of that and Pappy Van Winkle 15 year.

That’s a cool name for it too. Almost like something they’d have on The Simpsons.

I think I’m buying a case of this and this will be my drink till I die.

It’s Costco’s Small Batch 7 year-old Bourbon.

Here’s a link to where some online drink reviwer tries to discover who made it for Costco…it seems like Jim Beam (as it tastes like Baker’s) but it may be made by the Buffalo Trace distillery. I love that one too.

And it’s under $20 a bottle…and that’s a liter bottle, not the usual 700ml!

I mean I don’t need to play around acting like I’m some sort of expert…if I like this one and it’s only $20 a bottle? I’ll buy a case next time. What’ll it do? Go bad?
