Which Lift Is Your Cocaine?

I am just addicted to lifting. My life revolves around it, and I think about my forthcoming training session all day while I’m at work. On days that I don’t lift, I am sad.

It’s not like cocaine, it’s more like meth or heroin.
Hahaha, I was just about to say something similar!

But, I’d have to say that the close-grip bench press and front squat are probably my 2 top lifts. The bench press seems to be my naturally weakest movement, so the intense concentration it demands as I start approaching 200 lbs is very intense. And front squats… I don’t know what it is about them, but they are just magical.

Don’t remember ever enjoying back squats this much, though I haven’t done them in a few months.

The Snatch. Others have described to feeling of nailing it just perfectly.

Too often my entire workout have been snatches at the cost of squats.

Box Squats in my garage with old school rusty cast iron plates with NO belt and NO knee wraps. I just fucking love it. Just me, the weight and Korn playing ‘Untouchables’ on my cheap ass speakers.

Simply beautiful.

It’s a tie between the squat clean and the hang snatch! Both are just 100% fun to do! but the longer I think about it, there are at least 6 other exercises which are like cocaine to me… lifting weights in general is just great.

For me it’s whatever lift I’m progressing the most at. Right now, probably bench.

If you have to use the word “probably”, then it’s not an addiction.

Behind the neck push press is def a big one too. It’s not quite the same craving, but it’s close.
Hah! I use the word probably not to denote whether I’m addicted or not, but with debate as to whether I am more addicted to it than other movements.

@tjr-dk

it’s Mikhail Koklyaev, and yes, he’s huge and at least as strong as he looks like:

definitely bench and rows.

Every lift I do is my cocaine

Most definitely weighted pull ups. Something about a 45lb plate dangling between your legs for reps gets people looking. (oh and it’s a good workout too)

The sound of them clanking against brass balls would probably have them running screaming out of the gym, no? That would be impressive as well :stuck_out_tongue: (- I’m just joking with ya -
