Whey Protien - Lactose Intolerance

I was wondering if I should find a lactose free whey protein powder… usually after I drink a shake I feel a little nauseous :S
I could take pills that help digest it.

Individuals with lactose intolerance should select a pure whey protein isolate, which has less than 0.1 gram of lactose per tablespoon (20 grams). This is less lactose than the amount found in a cup of yogurt and research has shown that most people with lactose intolerance have no trouble taking this very small amount of lactose. Individuals with lactose intolerance should avoid whey protein concentrates as they usually contain lactose and the amount can vary greatly from product to product.

You may find that you have a problem with the powder itself, not the lactose content.

Best way is to experiment with various powders and see how you feel; obviously I’ll recommend Metabolic Drive as it has given me no discomfort, but to be honest I’ve only tried about 6 different brands.

I use an isolate to avoid lactose as much as possible. More pricey, but worth it to me.

i have had good results with optimum nutrition whey and i am intolerant.

I usually stick with Metabolic Drive as well since I can’t tolerate lactose and Metabolic Drive has never caused me any issues.

I can’t say the same for most other brands.

If you have not tried other flavors and brands be sure to do so, as it may just be an allergy to the weird chemicals that go into some shakes. I’m incredibly lactose intolerant and can handle most whey without issues, but the new vanilla Met-RX does the same stuff to me as Mexican tap water.
