As an old schooler, I can’t help but wonder what happened to The Wean? You know…when coming off cycle we used to simply spend a few weeks at the tail end cutting dosages down so our bodies could naturally adjust and recover. Seems like almost nobody talks about this or does it anymore. Now everyone adds more “PCT” drugs such as Clomid, Anastrozole, HCG, etc to an already stressed system. We never needed any of this. What gives?
People are smarter nowdays, and even cycling and PCT is only done by beginners, because PCT and hormonal shitstorm is also a huge stress.
What you did doesnt work, because your bodys natural production of hormones works more as an on/off switch rather than a slider. Basically, your body produces 0, no matter if you pin 1000 or 10mgs. So what you mentioned didnt do shit to help recovery. As soon as you stopped, you got the same stress you would if you’d just cut sooner.
In fact, lowering doses also means losing muscle anyways. You going from 1000 to 500 lowers the dose but does nothing else. Then going from 500 to 250 and then 100, keeps you suppressed but at even lower test levels you’d have naturally, which just means you lose muscle more than you would if youd already be in the middle of a proper PCT.
With that said, PCT is also a dead thing and only done by people who have no interest to commit or just dont know any better. What you said is a concept thats dead for some 30 years. Cycling and PCT is dead for some 10-15 years now.
This is similar to all those people who have fallen off buildings, or survived car crashes saying they never needed any safety…
People get away with tons of stupid shit, it doesnt mean its the right way.
Just because someone successfully quit coke addiction, doesnt mean we should teach our kids that its ok to try, just because some people quit it later and are fine now.

I must have been lucky then. I never had any problems recovering and maintaining much of the non-water weight gained on cycle and had no ED problems at all using the old wean method. This might have been partially due to the moderate cycles I did. Correct me if I’m wrong but I dont think Arnold and company needed any PCT drugs either, correct?
Well, its not like doing smth wrong makes u die. For example, asbestos is banned and considered very harmful, but it was in all the roofing in Soviet Union for decades, and as kids we were playing on those roofs, and using left overs to smash on the rocks because they broke easy, and we threw them in fire because they popped when were held in fire. Technically, those roofs didnt do shit to us, but it doesnt change the fact that they are banned and i guess - there is some risks there.
When i started this journey, many people cycled and didnt PCT… In fact, i know an old-timer in my country who still competes in Masters and actually does fairly well in international comps, and last time i spoke to him, he also did tapering up and tapering down, and his “PCT” is taking proviron in between cycles.
Everything is completely wrong with that, but he has the genetics to actually win Masters in Arnolds, so…
Bodybuilding is 90% genetics, so if someone does well, it is most likely he would do well no matter what. And if someone does shit, its most likely there is not enough training and drugs in the world to change that.
Its very similar to what we can see in beauty of women. Two girls, both have eyes, mouth, noses, similar hair but one could be considered hot and other one - ugly. Its a millimeter here and there and some proportions that make same face look either hot or fucked up.
Same with body - two girls, same size pants, same measurements, same weight, but ones ass is nice and round and other one could look either flat or just chubby or whatever. You cant really pinpoint what is the exact element that makes one ass hot and one - not. I dated a girl who had the best ass and abs i ever touched, and she didnt do shit in sports. Nothing. She didnt even know what a calorie is.
And i have dated girls who bust their ass in gym for years, and diet, and train people, and have trainers, but dont come even close.
So basically, Arnold would be Arnold no matter which exercises he chose, and no matter which drugs he did and how. And 10 people could copy everything he did, and even live in the same place and condition, and they would not resemble a single trait that Arnold did.
