Where Do You Train?
Xen Nova wrote]

Dude I trained with coach cordeiro & coach piccini (the later dude is f’ing crazy) for about a year :)!!.. if im not studying for gmat this summer i’m going to thailand …but wow… how did you get a hook up in holland? And what gym are you training at? If i had the cash for that shit I’d be there in a heartbeat!
Awesome, I never had a chance to meet cordeiro or coach piccini. I think cordeiro was in hunting beach running the chute boxe there…or has been for a while. Rudimar Fedrigo is mainly running the curitiba ones I believe. I made pretty good friends with cristiano marcello, cyborg, and julinho borges (chute boxes main muay thai trainer) while I was down there and lived with cyborgs brother. It was a great experience and they were the most friendly gym/people I have met in the mma community. I attached a pic of the people from chute boxe in my first week there, they invited me to a brazil-bbq. (left to right, my friend nick, rudimar fedrigo, chris the wrestling coach, julinho borges-muay thai coach, cyborgs brother, luis azeredo, cris cyborg, cyborg, and I forget the other two peoples names).

I dont’ have a hook up for holland yet. I found the best way to get a hook up is just show up with a smile and eager to learn/train hard/and experience other cultures. Trainers from anywhere respect people who work hard and are respectful and appreciative. This time in thailand I will spend 1.5 months at sityodtong and 1.5 months at superpro samui in koh samui. Also if you are every looking for a traveling training partner, I look to change locations every 3 months or so because I want to learn from everywhere and be well diversed in mma. Or if you have questions about differnt thailand gyms. After this next trip I will have experience at 7 different respected gyms there.

You will definitely hear from me!

Living the dream!

Tiger has some really good training but I was so turned off by the greedy white fat guy who owns it (will) that I had to leave there within a week. I thought it was absolutely wrong the way he treated some of the thai people as slaves. Have you had any bad experience with him? I had a few friends with me who were also disgusted and refused to workout there.

On a side note. The muay thai trainers where great trainers and very friendly…whys a big dumb fat white ex missonary always have to ruin a good thing in the name for money lol?
I have a great relationship with Will actually, what makes you think he’s greedy? I think it’s just that Will is used to the western way of working (taking work seriously, meeting deadlines etc) that can sometimes conflict with the Thai way of doing things (“sabai, sabai”, very relaxed).

Say hi to Kiew for me when you go to Sityodtong, he was my trainer there for 3 months.

Well there were alot of reasons I felt he was gready and misleading. Just to name one. I believe he sells his twins gloves for around 50-60$ american. Something like that. When I told him I thought that was expensive for thailand and I was going to look around. He assured me I couldnt’ find them anywhere cheaper on the island. Then I said well…I am going to patong stadium tonight I will check there first (i’ve knew they were way over priced). Then he went on…“oh well you might be able to find them there for a little cheaper, but no where else on the island. It woudlnt be worth it to haul them around for the little money you will save.”

I got on my motor bike…drove 2 mins to suwit muay thai and bought my twins specials for $25. I came back and told him, and since he knew he got caught trying to mislead me he blew up. He started going off on “oh well I have no idea what kind of other deals other thai gyms have with there distributors”. Then I told him why would you say yours are cheapest then? He freaked out again and back tracked somemore. Then he has the nerve to say " I was going up to bangkok tomorrow and I was going to ask if you wanted me to bring you back some gloves for no charge". Obviously he was just saying this. It was pretty funny. I am a pretty blunt guy so if I feel like someone is misleading or lying or pondering I will call them out on it to there face.

I have 3 other stories but I don’t feel like typing them right now unless you really want me to? I like most people…was super stoked to train at tiger muay thai. I had been looking forward to it every day for like 3 months and then that will guy just ruined it for me with every interaction I had with him. I don’t want to offend you or anything if he is your friend. That was just my experience with HIM…not the rest of the camp. Like I said the trainers were great and very friendly. The guy was a ex-catholic misonary trying to tell me the best places for prostitutes.

I never asked for this info he randomely brought it up when my friends chris and alex and him were in conversation. He all walked away like did he just tell us he is a catholic misonary and then offer that other info? anyways, that is just my experience. I am glad you have a good relationship and see a different side of him. But in all fairness to the character I think he is, I would never spend a cent in that guys muay thai facility or train there out of principle. P.s. money is not an issue for me. I make great money and spend it carefree, but I just dont like people taking advantage…anyways lol rant over

I just started training at Kurt Pellegrino’s Academy in NJ. Training in BJJ, striking and no-gi grappling.

I have no plans to fight MMA though I would like to do some grappling and bjj tournaments eventually.

The school has a pretty big fight team and I believe there are 9 guys who actively compete in MMA.
