Powerlifters and Weightlifters use them. Do you call them knee wraps?
Do they protect your knees or something? And are they also ideal to wear when doing the oly lifts? I’ve seen some olympic lifters use them while doing the snatch and the clean+jerk.
Well, there’s a big difference between wraps and sleeves. Wraps are what most powerlifters use, and there are some weightlifters that use them. They are long ace bandage type wraps, but stiffer, and provide support and will add to your squat numbers if wrapped tight enough. You have to wrap them lightly to function in snatch and CJ.
Sleeves are probably what you want. Sleeves provide support and keep your knees warm while you lift, but not so much support that it interferes with the lifts, and will not add kgs to your lifts.
You see a lot of weightlifters wearing knee sleeves, especially the blue Rehbands, very popular.
To answer your question about where to buy, Rehband are the most popular brand of sleeves in Weightlifting. If you’re in the US I think Jackal’s gym sells them and you can probably also buy them on Amazon. The blue ones are the most popular, and most people swear by them. I have the newer gray ones, and I like them, but people say that the blue are better/thicker.
