I have often said this is the more fair comparison. As far as quality goes, I imagine men and women are about on equal footing regarding obtaining romantic partnership with men.

Well considering you’re referring to a single gender there is no “underachieving” gender. Women make the final call in heterosexual courtship. So the dynamic is totally different.

I tried to point out the fact that in the U.S right now women are too focused on their jobs, willingly or not. This is having a detrimental effect on their appearance, creating a void of good looking women after a certain age. So this is causing men in the States to lower their standards in order to find someone, at least this is what I am noticing.
Approaching an attractive female these days you better be damn well confident of your financial security, your appearance, your humor, because their demands are sky high. As they should be right? Since they are few and far between.

EDIT: to continue on the homosexual point… men are visual creatures, this is how they approach prospective partners at first. You don’t need to go any further than the gay scene to notice this. This is why most men in that realm are in pretty darn good shape.
