Ok, so this is probably for the older lifters out there. I love lifting heavy and hard. I deadlift and squat and Its amazing but I want to know if I am going to wear myself out doing this as intensely as I do.
Should I be wearing straps and a belt and knee wraps to prevent damaging my joints? I only ask because I have talked to a few guys who powerlifted and they were maybe 32 and there knees and elbows were already shot. I am not a power lifter but I do want to continue lifting heavy and hard.
I weigh 185
405 deadlift with straps
205 bench (reps)
275 raw sqaut
Questions like this will get you thrown out of here. Ask your older buddies what they did training wise and do completely the opposite.
I just get angry with these posts.

Your lifts are way too light to be wrapping it up.

Don’t worry about it yet. When you do worry about it, knee wraps aren’t really as much for safety as for extra poundage. When you do get a belt, just wear it when you’re going for heavier attempts, not for all your warmups and the lat pull machine. Your back will get stronger that way.
