I was wondering when is the right time to take my protein. Due to time constraints, I have to get my cardio in immediately after my workout. I was wondering do I take my protein after the workout or after the cardio?
After the cardio. Hopefully you’ve got some carbs going on in that shake as well.
why do you say I should have carbs? And just out of curiosity, but why not take the protein after the workout?
Your body is basically a dry sponge after the workout and what it wants to soak up is carbs and protein. There are some articles here about the hows and whys of post workout nutrition, give them a search.
I would take the shake after cardio because if you do it before then you are giving your body a fuel source to use instead of using bodyfat. It’s somewhat similar to why a lot of people prefer doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach.
