Hey, @SkyzykS!

Head down and stay safe, Brother!

We need you posting here! Certainly not a Life Priority…but we Love 'ya!

Unofficial reports are that Trump and the deniers/You’re a NAZI/Fake Pandemic folks are taking their toll on Fauci. (I’m sure they feel that’s a good thing).

He is taking a more conciliatory “please be smart and safe” tone lately (when he does speak).

Quite sad, really. He’s certainly not the first either. This time we’re in is littered with the same story, over and over.

This guy’s story came up on my fb. feed from my neighbor, so I looked it up and there are multiple reports, local to the man’s region confirming by listing his obituary.

Maybe we need to rethink that and accept some socialism for the greater good.

Some things that are considered socialist are good, it’s just socialism as an ideology and what it leads to (communism) that is the problem.

Why should a country not do things that benefit its citizens? And why else should they willingly pay tax?

Yeah a lot of people aren’t taking this seriously until it hits them or a family member.

GOP in 2020 in less than 15 seconds, from the Wisconsin Republican convention.

This is like a SNL routine from the old days.

It really does. Like, that totally could have been Chris Farley instead.

It’s amazing. Truth really is stranger than fiction.

A fake pandemic becomes real when the arbiters of the information constantly lie to you and you know it.
Since we don’t know what’s really happening and some gatherings are allowed and others are not there is no way to know.

I say do what ever you want as normal and if someone complains, call it BLM.

Fauci is part of the problem. Worry, don’t worry… Wear a mask, don’t wear a mask. Our models show massive death, oops the models are wrong.

It’s not about denial, its about being lied to constantly. Was\ is this a situation where wide-spread economic despair is better than the disease. It does not seem to be the case at this point. Do masks work? Who knows. It stops the spit of a sick person, but beyond that I don’t see the point. .
Somebody smarter than me said, “If you can smell a fart through a mask, you can get corona through a mask”. I agree, seems obvious when put that way.

When it comes to science and discovery, I prefer when the experts update their positions based on evidence. Having one position from the beginning would sure be nice, but pretty difficult to expect in a situation like this IMO. I would not call changing positions based on evidence lying.

Part of the issue with Fauci is that the Trump admin is trying to discredit him as recent reports have shown.

Sounds like a wonderful fantasy. Pure science, unpolluted will tell you the truth, but aside from one doing it themselves there is no way to know if they are being told the truth. And scientific evidence unmolested is our best tool, but it’s not unmolested. Contrarian, scientific expertise by some who have been in the field is being suppressed. Big tech is deciding what “scientific knowledge” we are allowed to believe and which isn’t.
That’s a big ‘no bueno’ in my book. The lack of transparency and censorship is the source of my distrust.
The consequences of what Fauci says is not minor. It causes economic despair and misery.
Economic despair and misery is the number one cause of death and further misery on the planet. It’s no minor thing to say ‘shut it all down’.

Also, what Fauci did not do, which he should have most certainly done is explain, very clearly, what the goal is\ was.
Are we trying to slow the spread in order to not overwhelm the healthcare system or was he trying to stop covid in it’s tracks and eradicate the disease? The answer has radically different consequences. It’s very different to stop the disease vs. slow the spread.

I do not care what the media thinks Trump is trying or not trying to do, the media reports whatever it needs to, to conform it to their ideology. The media has been the worst liars of all. Trying to find out what is really happening in the world is very, very difficult anymore.

We still have access to at least some of the research papers. Most are too lazy to actually read those papers though and rely on the news. Regarding masks, the science isn’t conclusive on the efficacy of them, but it does seem to indicate that it is better than going without one if the goal is to slow down transmission.

I agree. My pressing point is that just a few years ago, people would come home watch the local news a 6 and National News at 7 and have a pretty good pulse for what was going on. There was no internet and fact checking happened slowly at the local library.

People still have that trust, but I would hardly consider the content of the “news” to be actually real unless you can verify it across several sources. Reading research papers is a painful way to get an overview of what something is and how to react to it and most people won’t do that. Maybe they are lazy, maybe they don’t care, maybe they are too busy.

The narrative that you can no longer trust the media has not shifted with the pace it which news became scripted reality TV. So people still have confidence in it, but there is too much misinformation. It’s the most duplicitous and nasty business on earth. Most “journalists” are loathsome freaks pushing an agenda.

Yeah as do I. Lol at all the oh something brand new on a worldwide stage wasn’t accurately understood therefore all science is bad. Oh predictions with something brand new on a worldwide stage of this magnitude were off? God damn.

These people don’t even remotely understand statistics or models in the least bit. Do these idiots do that with their own doctor? “I’d love to listen to you on my heart disease but in 1895 they thought this about heart disease and it was way off therefore I don’t trust any doctor.”

When your President is demonstrably incompetent and has handled the situation horribly you need to have someone else to blame. Dr. Faucci is the person to blame. Because Trump can’t be for these people. It always has to be someone else’s fault. Doesn’t matter what the situation is. We really needed a competent leader as President facing a global pandemic of this magnitude. We don’t have that. So Faucci is a nice it’s his fault person to have. But the hate on him started long ago not when he was right or wrong on anything long term but when he corrected Trump. Which was essentially the task of all doctors for a long time.

I don’t hear as much Bill Gates conspiracy shit so maybe thats it. Although I see all sorts of the government is trying to control you with face masks on Facebook though. Yes finally the government which knows where I live and how many people live here, knows my social security number, dob, etc has done what they’ve always set out to do. Make sure we have cloth on our faces while taking a piss at Walmart. Everything else was a setup.

The answer started as one, and became another. That’s one reason for the seeming changes in statements. It was stop it when we thought there was a chance we could corral, trace, and contain it. After that the goal switched to not overloading the HC system. Most of that is Trump’s fault, although there is enough blame to go around at the top of most of the concerned organizations.

The other being that there’s a CiC that has an attention span the size of a 1st grader and an ego the size of Texas, so it is hard for any SME to be able to figure out what fire it is they’re going to have to put out from the administration.

I’m not going to answer the rest because we don’t see eye to eye and I’d have an aneurysm or go off the handle.

We do agree on this.

Honestly, I’m more and more getting to the point where I ALMOST wish HRC had won… almost. I don’t know what to do I’m conflicted lol.

Gotta keep in mind that this is a problem with 7.8 Billion moving parts.

If thinking about it in those terms doesn’t humble you a bit and allow some consideration for difference/change, then there is nothing else anybody can say.

Imagine a novel pathogen emerges.

And then imagine a portion of the population demanding ‘cLeAr aNd dEfiNiTiVe aNd uNwAvEriNG!’ guidance to said novelty.

And then watch their initial fears slowly-and-surely replaced by anger (which largely arises from their own faulty expectations in the 1st place)

We would have likely never got this look into history though. Or this kickass retweet:

“The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19,” wrote Woolery in the message promoted by Trump. “Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most ,that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it.”

And Trump confirmed what I already knew. Fucking Obama didn’t just take all the guns. He stopped the testing!

“Biden and Obama stopped their testing,” Trump said. “They just stopped it. You probably know that. I’m sure you don’t want to report it. But they stopped testing. Right in the middle, they just went, ‘No more testing.’”

But thankfully Trump years after Obama was President has decided to put an end to the Obama administration policy of not testing for the Coronavirus.

“The Obama administration made a decision on testing that turned out to be very detrimental to what we’re doing,” Trump said. “And we undid that decision a few days ago so that the testing can take place in a much more accurate and rapid fashion.”

Thank you President Trump for pointing out that Obama and Biden stopped testing in the middle and that you are taking steps to stop his issues with testing.
